She must feed off humanoid souls to survive. The Duke of New Meyer must choose between defending his world or a long shot attempt to save the Imperium. A billion-year old race intervenes to protect their investment. First book in the Imperium Succession Saga. I'm looking for a couple of reviews. Delighted to be a part of things here! Note to other authors who feel they may not have time to write: I wrote my book in Ten Minutes a Day as I had no more time than that. It worked! The small time demand worked as both a trigger and procrastination killer. So if you think you don't have time to write, think again! Make it Happen in Ten Minutes a Day!

I'm currently running a Goodreads Giveaway for my novel Breaking Young Divinities. The giveaway runs until June 30th: http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...

I am making the ePub edition available for free until June 30th as well: https://www.goodreads.com/ebooks/down...

I would absolutely love to get feedback from anybody who reads Breaking Young Divinities - so please just drop me a line here on Goodreads.

Thanks so much!
-Rick Talbot

Back cover text:

"Breaking Young Divinities is a candid and spiritual coming-of-age tale about a boy who grows up in the housing projects of 1980s Toronto and comes to grips with young adulthood in the 1990s.
He lives a sheltered childhood until high school, where he meets Jen, a mysteriously troubled young woman. She introduces him to his first tastes of passion, adventure, and sex.
In one tragic night, his world is turned upside down by an event that sends him on a misguided quest to come to terms with the world, with the God that he feels has abandoned him, and with the limitations of being human."

DB Corey (DB_Corey) | 1 comments Hi!

My name is DB Corey, and I'm a newly minted author. In August, my very first novel -Chain of Evidence- will be released. Imagine my surprise when I saw it listed here on Goodreads. It will be available on Amazon, B&N, and bookstores, So I hope anyone who loves crime thrillers will have a look and let me know what they think.

I know when I began writing it, I read many "first" novels from the likes of Vince Flynn, Lee Child, Greg Iles, and many more, just to see if I was doing it right.

But I'll let you be the judge.

Thanks so much for the invite, Rick.

Talk to you soon.

I also write historical fiction set in the middle east at the end of the Late Bronze Age, around 1200 BC or so. My first novel, 'In a Milk and Honeyed Land', has had good reviews from the Historical Novel Society, Blue Ink, and a number of individual reviewers. A recent review read in part "Considering the depths of emotion explored, the lessons conveyed, and the story told, 'In a Milk and Honeyed Land' is an astonishingly easy read. More than that, it’s utterly beautiful."
I am looking forward to being part of this community.

Hi Everyone, I have been a part of this amazing group for awhile and wanted to just share that I am a children's author/artist/poet. I recently published two very unique and interactive children's stories (Walk Like a Giant and Luki and The Rocket Power Shoes). The thing that is different about my works is that inside the book(s), children can illustrate their own pictures, act out the story and be creative among so many other cool things. I do not have a website just my books :) I hope you check them out as I have been receiving great feedback from my community, fellow educators, parents and kids (the pictures I receive to my email from children (via the parents of children) are inspiring and push me to keep on writing for the kids. It is my small contribution to engage and inspire our youth. Let me know what you think. xo

Lloyd Francis (lg_francis) | 2 comments I want to thank Rick for inviting me to join this group. I am a retired war correspondent and photojournalist. I just finished my first novel From Rum to Roots and it will be released next month.

I just finished reading Roberto Bolano's 2666. Really enjoyed that. Currently reading Sugar Street by Naguib Mahfouz in order to finish reading the Cairo Trilogy.
My interest lies in literary fiction. Life is hazardous enough without creating zombies, vampires, and werewolves. The family is the birthplace of human drama. Watch Jerry Springer and you will see the seeds of millions of novels on your TV screen...

Richard Roedel (polariseffect) | 1 comments Hello everyone, my name is Rick Roedel. I am new to goodreads and I am very excited to be apart of the community. I just finished publishing my first book, written on a topic I am very passionate about.

The Polaris Effect: Who really holds the power in creating American Jobs? is more than just a book - it's a movement to bring back three million U.S. manufacturing jobs. Rather than rely on the government or other companies, I place the responsibility to bring back U.S. manufacturing jobs on U.S. citizens, whose wallets affect where manufacturing jobs are sent.

I was one of the individuals that had to restart my career at age 55, as my last occupation disappeared over night with the changes our country has gone though. Thus, the inspiration to write my book and share my experience with others.

Please check out my book and tell me what you think. I am very happy to announce the release to this community.

Best,
Rick Roedel

Kim Headlee (kimheadlee) Hello, all! My name is Kim Headlee, and I also write as Kimberly Iverson. Eventually I will be submitting screenplays as Kim Iverson Headlee, but that's an entirely different matter! Dawnflight was first published in 1999 by Sonnet Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, and it received awards, award nominations, critical acclaim... and sales that didn't satisfy the NY bean counters, so my series languished in WIP-land for more than a decade.

Dawnflight by Kim Headlee Liberty by Kimberly Iverson

In 2004 I got Harlequin to buy my female-gladiator manuscript titled Liberty for its (then) relatively new HQN Books line. More award nominations, more critical acclaim... and sales that didn't satisfy the bean counters. Are we sensing a pattern yet?

So last year I decided that enough was enough and started investigating the indie path. To that end, I have reissued Dawnflight 2nd Edition (substantial changes to the text as well as the interior art and cover art) in ebook and in print. I just released the ebook edition of Dawnflight's sequel, Morning's Journey. I still need to approve the print layout proof, but when that goes into retail channels, I will definitely start talking about it here!

Dawnflight (The Dragon's Cove Chronicles, #1) by Kim Headlee

Meantime I invite you to check out the book trailer for Dawnflight, which also features the outstanding voice talent of Dorothy Dickson, who performs the audiobook edition.

Thanks for your attention, and have a great day!

Vincent Pratchett | 1 comments 5.0 out of 5 stars A Complex and Magnificent Novel.. A winner! June 10, 2013
By Richard S. Friedman
Format:Paperback
The Raven's Warrior is a most fascinating and splendid read! The marvelous Vincent Pratchett has fashioned one of those great adventure novels that literally grab you with the first sentence and never lets go. What a truly wonderful literary ride it is!

The attention to detail, the sense of history and fantasy, the vivid characters who leap off the pages, are all seamlessly integrated to produce a most memorable read. Mr. Pratchett has a magnificent way with a sentence. It is as if there is not a single superfluous word..every word is integral to the whole.

The Raven's Warrior combines so many terrific elements..Celtic history, Arthurian Legend, the supernatural..and all fit in so well in the overall narrative. The adventures and startling life of Arkthar, from kidnapping by Viken raiders and descent into the Baghdad slave market is brought so vividly to life. When Arkthar arrives in the Middle Kingdom..the reader feels as if they have accompanied him on the remarkable journey. Everything a great book should be!

I must also applaud Mr. Pratchett for the immense amount of research that has obviously gone into THE RAVEN'S WARRIOR..there is quite a bit of fact mixed with fiction..together producing a rollicking adventure..and a must read!
