Massimo Marino | 2 comments Thank you for the invitation.

So, I'm Italian, and because even in Italy that means everything and nothing at all, I should say, I am Sicilian. I was born in Palermo, and as it happened with countless Sicilians, I left it, back in 1986. I lived more years abroad than in my home country, and I have changed in many and different ways than my old friends there. It is always a pleasure to go back, but it is now 6 long years since my last visit. Saudade? Maybe, a little.

I lived in Switzerland, France, and the United States. I am a scientist as a background, and have spent over 17 years in fundamental research. Most of my writing are then academic stuff, and I always wonder at how much Google is able to find about everyone. I am sure one has to Google oneself so not to forget too much...

I worked for many years at CERN—an international lab for particle physics research near Geneva, Switzerland—then in the US at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Fantastic moments and memories from those years. In 2005 I moved to the private sector, worked with Apple Inc., and then for the World Economic Forum. I wrote since I was a kid, short stories and novellas, but never had anyone read it. It was a personal thing. Then, work and life took their toll and I stopped. Slightly over a year ago, for various reasons, I started again with some burning inside that needed to come out. On the first weekend I got over 15000 words, then subscribed to critters.org for peer review, lurked a year keeping on writing and getting feedback, and last September my debut novel saw the light. It received the 2012 PRG Reviewer's Choice Award in Science Fiction. A debut novel among so many established authors in the competition. I'm writing now the sequel and published a small collection of short horrid stories.

Ah, I profit to share that today, on March 12 at noon in New York, I will be guest of the web and broadcast radio ArtistFirst Radio Network for one hour.

See the schedule at www.ArtistFirst.com

Hope to hear you from you during the broadcast.

Jeremy Lee | 3 comments Hello all,

I'm an author and voracious reader, always with a stack of books on the nightstand, and always turning over which books occupy this at-hand position. My reading is as varied as my novels, actually more so. While I work in the comfortable land of fiction (historical, satirical, and in forth-coming books in science-fiction and fantasy) my reading touches on all these and more. Looking forward to snagging a few delightful recommendations and perhaps a few good spirited conversations about the books which make us all so excited.

Jen Christopherson (jenchristopherson) I would like to thank Rick for inviting me through LinkedIn! I am sure it was not a personal invite, but, I want to thank him, all the same.

I published Tior in 2008. I had many troubles in my personal life and ended up not publishing anything since. However, I am about to publish my new novel, Warrior Crone. I am very excited about this book!!!

I learned a lot through the writing and publishing (and the failure to sell) Tior. My writing has grown a great deal since it was published.

Tior by Jen Christopherson

This time, I hope to get fans, as well as get to know them! I would like to be the kind of author that fans feel they can give their true feelings about the book, even how it could be improved!!!

Anyway, thank you. This group sounds like a great place to enjoy what I love! Reading and writing!

Christopher (chrisscharping) | 6 comments Hi! I'm always happy to be in with a group of readers and writers. Most of my reading lately has been limited to research for my newest book that, hopefully, will be published this summer. This book, "We Reget To Inform You" is written from several viewpoints and on multiple timelines as the reader follows the lives of two young pilots and their families during World War II. The story begins in prewar days, goes through the conflicts and ends with a father's search for his "Missing In Action" son. The deep love a father has for his son, his son's fortitude, and a friend who is not a friend at all.
My previous three books: "Where Is Happily Ever After?", "Searching for Happily Ever After" and "Paradise Found...at long last", are an extended memoir of the 1960s, 70s, 80s and early 90s. They are basically about overcoming the bumps in the road that keep so many people from their ultimate life goals. In the books, I face some pretty overwhelming obstacles (marriage, divorce, remarriage, children, the military, travels around the world) as I searched for happiness and love. I add a lot of contemporary history and culture to the mix and folks say they are enjoying the reading of them. Please join them!
Glad to be a part of this. Look forward to joining the conversations!

Brannon | 4 comments What's up peeps!

My name is Brannon and I have republished my great-grandfather's authentic WWI diary, That's War. The youngest of 4 children from the outskirts of Mobile, Alabama, he grew up to become the highest decorated officer in Georgia(where he settled after serving in both World Wars), and arguably one of the most highly decorated American soldiers of the entire Great War. His indelible experiences from training men in camp to the battlefronts in Europe are detailed in this book, including the act of becoming an honorary citizen of France. While the literary subject of WWI is not new, I have been hard pressed to discover a resource that gives the reader a definitive point of view from behind the medals. In short, this is the book that embodies the thoughts, actions, reflections and emotions of what it was like to serve America, and the world, in the fight for freedom.

I to make That's War a success so I can use it as a platform to help disabled veterans.

You can purchase the ebook for $2.99 at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view.... Please check out www.thatswar.com for more info. Thanks and Best wishes to all!

Daniel Kemp (ggodreadscomdannykemp) | 1 comments Not sure if I'm in the right slot but here goes.
For those that don’t know me, I would like to introduce myself. I am sixty-three, and amongst many other things, was once a London Police Officer arrested for attempted murder. For the record, I got out of that, and haven’t tried it since. My debut novel, THE DESOLATE GARDEN, was published in March last year. It has been compared to: The Constant Gardener, The 39 Steps and The Third Man. My style of writing has been likened to Graham Greene.
The rights to the novel have been sold to a London Film Production Company with a ‘set’ having been constructed in The Arab United Emirates. Locational work will then be done in London sometime this year. The cost of filming is $30,000,000.
It is available on forty-four internet sites worldwide and either in, or by order from, all major bookshops in the United Kingdom, including Waterstones, for whom I finished a sixteen week signing tour in October. I am doing another tour with them next month. An Amazon link to a four chapter preview.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Desolate-...
Or:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Desolate-Ga...
The novel has been featured in The Sunday Times Book Club.

I now write articles for Female First, the UK’s most popular Celebrity and Lifestyle online magazine.

All of its internet availability can be found on this site, where signed copies can be ordered and sent worldwide.

Howard Gleichenhaus | 6 comments Hello All,
My name is Howard Gleichenhaus and my newest novel, Whisper in the Pines has just been released by Brighton Publishing.

Mary Elizabeth Laverneaux is beautiful, devious, …and deadly. She returns to her home in Moultrie, Georgia in the summer of 1938 with a mission…
…to get her little girl before Jebediah Collins finds her.
A year before, she had left her husband, Reggie, and daughter, Carlee, to follow the con man, living a life on-the-run with Collins and his ruthless partner, Ben. Taking off with $20,000 of Collins’s cash, Mary Elizabeth hopes to leave behind her errant ways and start a new life with her daughter—but Collins is hot on her trail.
At Whispering Pines, the Laverneaux family’s ancestral home and one-time plantation, Reggie Laverneaux finds love again in the form of his childhood friend, Emily Winters. When Reggie is approached with a proposal to reopen the family mill by an investor from New York, things begin to look up for Reggie and his new family. But when Mary Elizabeth’s return is tied to a hotel clerk’s murder, Reggie must fight his demons—old and new—to protect the ones he loves.
Collins will stop at nothing to get revenge on the woman who betrayed him; and as the bodies begin to pile up, Detectives Bill Mason and Cal Druggins are forced to act quickly to put an end to the terror ransacking the small, southern town. When Collins kidnaps Carlee, Mary Elizabeth fears the worse; she knows what the con man is capable of first-hand.
Will they find Carlee before Collins goes too far?

Carlene Stanfield-Wold | 1 comments TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY by Carlene Stanfield-Wold
This is my first published work but I have a collection of poems and short stories I have written over the past years. It took these many years to get
the courage for a venture into self-publishing after the many "we do not accept unsolicited manuscripts" letters.
Now that I'm "out there" I realize it takes more than courage. Persistence and fortitude is also necessary.I have confidence and reassurance from my readers that it is a good story, enjoyable to read and uplifting as well as entertaining.
I appreciate the opportunity to communicate with
others who have been in this process longer and are
sharing their experiences. I am anxious to be successful at marketing TOMORROW.. because the sequel is churning in my brain!
I am honored to be in the community of authors.
