Thank you Rick for the invitation to join your group!Hello everyone. My name is Michael and I am the author of Keres' Eyes, a science thriller that was recently published. I have a number of books that I'm wanting to read, although to be honest right now I've been so busy with Keres' Eyes and another couple of books I'm working on that about the only thing I've been reading consistently are my emails, yahoo.com news articles, and Texts from Superheroes (such a funny website).
I like most genres although I like action/adventure, thrillers, and sci-fi/fantasy the best.
Thank you, Rick, for the invitation. My name is Doris R. Meredith, and I publish as D. R. Meredith. I have written 19 books and several short stories published by such New York houses as Ballantine, Avon, Putnam, and Harper Collins. All are now available as ebooks. All but two of my titles are mysteries, humorous ones, at that, as I suffer (or enjoy) an addition to that genre. I love mysteries of all varieties, but I particularly enjoy medieval mysteries and regional mysteries. I'm looking forward to discussions on kinds of writing, whether my particular love or not. I have an article in Mystery Readers Journal. Go to http://www.mysteryreaders.org/Issues/... to read my article as well as others in this issue on legal mysteries. I also invite everyone to read my blog and book trailers at http://highwatermysteries.wordpress.com/ I also invite everyone to my Facebook page at Facebook/Doris Meredith, or follow me on Twitter at @Doris_Meredith. I try to answer any questions promptly, but when I'm writing, a few days may pass before I can get back to you.

Thanks for the invitation, Rick. You allow self promo, so I'll go for it. I worked with my agent (sweet LA woman) on a series about relationships. It's called The Bedouin series and is about a roof fixer from NY whose touring group forgot him at the Dead Sea, so he became a Bedouin. He pitched a tent and to make some cash he started giving life saving counseling. I try and keep my pen on that line that divides the real from the absurd. When my agent fell unfortunately ill, I starting putting the novels out as Kindle editions. At the moment there are three out there in cyberland.
My name is Roy Mayer, I am Canadian and I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, with my wife of nearly fifty years, Lise. I have written four published books: Two were Canadian bestsellers with one having been short-listed for the Governor General's Literary Award. The current book, my fifth, I published on Amazon.com in both Kindle and and paperback. Entitled 'Galahad Cried'it is a novel based upon the true story behind the Galahad Memorial erected in front of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, the Capital of Canada. My website: www.galahadcried.com provides complete information about this lively and fascinating piece of Canadian history. This book is an ideal gift for oneself as well as for people of all ages.

Thanks for inviting me to this group, Rick. I'm really looking forward to sharing and learning and making new friends. I am a Canadian published author of three genres. I have published four of the five books to my y/a action-packed adventure series, The Misadventures of Sarah Davies, one adult suspense/thriller called Web Secrets, and one inspirational book called Let Faith Arise! I am currently writing the follow-up to this last book called Against All Odds, and hope to have the last of the series published by spring of next year.
Thanks for the invitation, Rick! I am still figuring out Goodreads, but I am always looking for great groups to join. :o)I have published 3 books this year: two treasure hunt/action adventure books, and a Christian historical romance set in the Civil War. (covers below) The second a/a book, The Hoard of the Doges, can stand alone, although it has the same characters as the first, Solomon's Throne. I will have a YA dystopian sci-fi fantasy coming out in late Jan, with book 2 following probably in March. I blog about writing at http://jenningswright.wordpress.com

Hi, my name is Mary Anne MacCrone and it is great to join the group! I am Canadian, living in London, Ontario and have published my first book. Hidden Refractions is a romantic suspense and was released in July 2012.When a successful NYC business consultant returns to her hometown following her grandfather's death, she is surprised to be named as the coheir of the jewelry store her grandfather had operated for years. Together with a man she has only just met, she re-opens New Glory Gems and after only a few weeks discovers a vault full of stolen gems. As the new co-owners piece together what they know about the jewels, it becomes obvious that someone is determined to retrieve something of great value and is willing to kill for it. Danger weaves itself into the small Kentucky town taking lives and threatening the future happiness of the main characters.
It was great fun writing the book and a huge education publishing it.
Paperback and ebook available at many online bookstores including the publisher's website:

My name is Andrei Baltakmens. I'm a writer, and I'm happy to find this group and join on the invitation of the moderator. I'm the author of an historical mystery, The Raven's Seal, released this month. My mystery is set in and around one of the tumultuous, brawling prisons of the 19th century, inspired by the classics of English fiction, particularly Dickens.
You can learn more on the publisher's website, Top Five Books: http://www.top-five-books.com/books_r...
You can also find an author interview and review on the excellent HistoricalNovels.info blog: http://www.historicalnovels.info/Rave...
My interests range from mystery and speculative fiction to literary fiction, and I don't believe that any of these categories are exclusive.
I'm looking forward to joining the discussions here.

Brown and have switched to historical fiction under GK Parker. I read a variety of books, fiction and nonfiction. Right now I'm reading The Book of Negroes. I'm also a huge fan of Michael Connelly and Robert Crais.

Greetings my follow readers and writers,I was invited here by Rick F. I am an Dark Fantasy Author of two published books. Moonwarriors and Moonwarriors: Guardians of the night. They are An Epic, Medieval, Erotica, Romantic, Horrific, Gothic, Dark Fantasy Novels. If you are interested in reading an excerpt of both books just go to http://www.goodreads.com/RustyNugent
Please leave a comment about what you think of my writing skills and my story. Thank you so very much.
My first book summary:
Set in the 8th century in Romania when it was still known as Dacia, Moonwarriors tells the tale of a werewolf warrior named Walter Volknor. Once an innocent farm boy, he is out for revenge against Avatar, a master vampire that has slaughtered his family. The werewolf begins a crusade to destroy the evil vampire race. Other compassionate wolves join him in his obsession. Four wolves in particular, Golarin, Bordak, Mary, and Stytentos, aid Walter in his many adventures and become his best friends. Throughout Dacia, fear and honor are heaped upon his name and in due time, he is a beloved champion for werewolves and humans alike. However, just as his dreams of living a vampire-free existence are coming to fruition, a chain of tragic and horrific events unfold, leaving the land of Dacia in shock. This is the first tale in the Moonwarriors saga.
My second book summary:
Thirteen sixty-three. The werewolf warrior Stytentos is jaded and disillusioned, living in a monastery in Nepal. His outlook on life has changed since the humans turned on his people and began hunting them to the point of extinction. As mass hysteria took over Dacia, lycanthropes and humans alike were burned at the stake, accused of being werewolves “in league with the Devil” by the self-righteous and power-hungry Catholic Church. Stytentos is attempting to rebuild his life in the aftermath of the darkest chapter of his people’s existence: The Burnings. So when an old friend long dead appears to him in a dream, asking for him to fight the vampire threat and save the world, he wants no part of it. Eventually, he gives in and his quest leads him on an adventure that will take him around the globe, throughout the centuries until present day. Modern America and the rest of the world have forgotten the old ways, as vampires and werewolves live, fight and die in secret. Nestafil, the vampire leader, plots to unleash his nosferatean army on the human populace and enslave the werewolves. Stytentos must once again learn how to let people get close to him. And the clock is ticking. Will he learn the true identity of who murdered the Volknor family? Can the werewolves destroy the vampires once and for all? It’s a showdown to the finish as the fate of humankind hangs in the balance.

Thanks so much for the invitation! I'm an avid fan of the written word. While I enjoy writing a bit more than I enjoy reading, words are my life!My favorite genre is speculative fiction, with a special interest in sci-fi and horror, although I do also have a soft spot for literary works. Basically, if it's artfully written, provocative, or leaves me thinking, I'll enjoy it.
Glad to meet you all!

Greetings all! Special thanks to Dianne for inviting me to this wonderful group. Sci-Fi/Fantasy will always be my first love as far as books go, and if you check out my books you'll find I have an unhealthy obsession with irony-based satire. Anyway, glad to participate, and I hope people can benefit from my comments/involvement.
Cheers! :)
message by John: Hi all, I'm John Stipa. Thanks to Rick for inviting me. I grew up an incorrigible Tom Sawyer wannabe. My cover by day is corporate analyst. At night the writer's mask and cape comes on. No plans to stay in one genre. I write stories of emotion as told to me by the characters. I've published numerous short stories in anthologies with my writer's group and two novels. No Greater Sacrifice, an adventure/mystery/romance novel came out in 2009.
Only a few hrs left, but you can get NGS for free via Kindle download till midnight.

Hello - My name is Peter Idone. First off allow me to thank Rick for his kind invitation to join the group. In the few minutes I've taken to simply check out what's going on here I am astounded by the the size and scope of this book club. There is definitely something here for everyone and it's no wonder the membership is so large. I'll do my best to post in the appropriate folders.I'm an author of two novels and working on my third. My book likes are eclectic as I read any number of genres and non-fiction.A few favorite authors include JG Ballard, Heinrich Boll,Richard Ford (I hope to get his latest soon)and the cultural historian William Irwin Thompson among many. I've spent the past sixteen years living in Seattle, WA and have moved to Manchester, NH back in March. Seattle and the Pacific Northwest as a whole is great place for people who love and read books, the cinema, and most importantly old growth temperate rain forests. The reason I've moved to New England as it was an important career move for my wife and the change was necessary. Plus, originally from New York we are closer to family which at this time in our lives has assumed importance.
I'll list the books I've written in the approriate sections and a giveaway listed here on G'reads that started yesterday. I look forward to meeting everyone along the way.
Thank you so much, Rick for the invitation!I am an US author who is an avid of many genres. I have 2 books currently available which you can find on my site,

Hi Rick,
Thank you for the invitation. My platform topics center on Diversity and Bullying issues.
Here is a bit about me and my books:
Author Cherrye Vasquez is a public school administrator and an adjunct professor. She is a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum & Instruction; a Master of Education in Special Education; and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology/Audiology.
Vasquez specializes in Multi-cultural education and holds certifications in Early Childhood Handicapped, Mid-Management and Educational Diagnostician.
She lives in Houston with her husband, Roy and her daughter, Kelly.
Children’s Chapter Book, "No Tildes on Tuesday" is geared for ages 7-13 year olds – 510 Lexile level.
"No Tildes on Tuesday" - Isabella never wanted to learn to speak Spanish. But when her parents announce that they are moving the family to a predominantly Mexican-American neighborhood, Isabella becomes desperately afraid that she won’t be able to fit in and grudgingly agrees to start Spanish lessons with her abuela.
But the lessons aren’t as easy as she thought they would be. Abuela is a strict teacher and the words are a lot more difficult to memorize than Isabella thought they would be, so at the goading of her best friend she decides to put a stop to them. Through a runaway adventure, a visit to her father in the hospital, and an introduction to a new kind of friend, Isabella comes to realize that Spanish may not be as bad as she thought, and that being able to communicate with people who share her heritage could be invaluable.
Follow Isabella and author Cherrye Vasquez on a challenging journey of culture, family, and communication that just might change your mind about having No Tildes on Tuesday.
Journal Daybooks:
The "DIVERSITY DAYBOOK: JOURNAL" was designed for students to journal about their individuality and special qualities that makes them unique and worthy as citizens in our diverse society. Diversity is important in our society because it helps children unlearn stereotypes.
This daybook will also sanction students to establish lifelong relationships while esteeming the values and significance of others for years to come.
Students cannot all be alike. There are differences as well as similarities among them. As students begin to acknowledge, accept and share their differences and similarities one to another they will begin to come to terms with diversity.
As a mother, educator and author, it is important for me to see children learning about each other in healthy respectful ways. In fact, the rich colors of this text depict how rich, colorful and diverse we are as a people.
Once students have completed their Diversity Daybooks, hopefully you and I will see more healthy relationships, as well as a decline in bullying behaviors in our nation’s schools.
The "AfFiRmAtIoN DaYbOoK: Journal" was designed as a tool so that children can journal about their inspirations. Affirmations will build positive empowerment within children. Author Cherrye S. Vasquez maintains that affirmations and the use of self-fulfilling prophecy techniques can change the focus of what children do, what they want to do, or what they hope to do.
It is Vasquez’ intent that students will journal, and then voice and declare with great conviction their journey and status in life. By doing so, children will have heightened, unbreakable, self-esteem and self-confidence. Building a child’s self-esteem and confidence is essential for maintaining deep inner strength and authority in their lives.
Bullying is a pandemic in our nation’s schools. It is important for students to express and affirm who they are through voice and action. Student confidences will build over time, and students will become less victimized by bullies. At least, bullies will grow weary of toying with a student who is armored with affirmation and power.
Vasquez also believes that educators and parents can assist children with evolving and becoming whoever they want to become if they practice using affirmation and self-fulfilling prophecy techniques early and often in an effort to mold, and make children into beautiful and rewarding citizens of our society.
“Guess What? Dear Diary,”
Vasquez and her then 10 year old daughter, Kelly (now 11 years), created this young girl’s diary together during summer 2012. Kelly is the illustrator.
The author and illustrator of this diary desire a fun and exciting way for young girls to write about their greatest accomplishments, personal feelings and fears. As young girls grow up, they will have their share of life’s problems, but writing can be soothing for the mind and soul. There will be triumphs as well as pitfalls during life, but journaling about daily ins and outs via a diary can be nurturing, rewarding and refreshing for a girl’s emotional state.
The author and illustrator would like for parents to feel comfortable appreciating and understanding that in no way are they encouraging girls to keep secrets from their parents.
The headings/topics are appropriately tailored for girl-like thoughts, and they are pure in everyday life and nature. Young girls will love writing and expressing their inner thoughts to none other than Dear Diary.
