Candace Comstock Hey ya'll. I'm Candace, a transplanted yankee in ATL. My journey in this world has been rich with reading, both for pleasure and academia. I've been a school teacher and school counsleor for over twenty years. I've lived with my husband for thirty, and we raised two great kids and numerous pets. Empty nesting is wonderful, I say. I wrote a book about my life and experiences dealing with my mom's Alzheimer's disease. Joan was her name, and she is so missed. Read about my book at www.rememberjoan.com.
Like Dustin Hill before me, I'm new to Goodreads activity. Hope to have time to get more involved. Right now I'm reading Anna Karenina, and it's a long book. :)

Miriam Pia | 1 comments Yet another writer, a long term SF & F fan...diverse in real life.

Urban crime fiction with a touch of magick:

The Sheriff of Marion County is fed up with a local villain. At his wits end, he turns to the Mayor. The youngest Mayor the city has ever known unleashes a special team of "vigilantes" to piece together the puzzle that will let the cops put the bad guy behind bars. Even the Sheriff's Father puts in his hand to conquer the crime in An Adventure in Indianapolis.

Rob Krabbe (robkrabbe) | 4 comments Ghostwriter comes back to life: his own!
I am so very happy to be a part of this site. I have lurked here for a long time, and enjoyed reading, reading, reading. Now I am crawling out of the woodwork from the depths of countless lonely nights into the bright light of a new day.

My name is Rob Krabbe. I have been writing for as long as I can remember, sometimes out of a passionate and obsessive need that’s produced countless poetry and short stories., But until now I had only worked on novels as a ghostwriter. After many years of being creative for other people’s websites, novels, biographic novels, and script projects, I made the decision to "come out," in my own name as a writer.

So thank you for the invitation to join, Rick! Thank you all for loving books as much as I do. I hope you will consider ROB KRABBE's (me!) first novel release: The Jake Collins Band: The Fading Silence. You can find info at http://www.krabbe.com

Thank you and enJOY a life of reading. I know I will!

Lorrie Farrelly (goodreadscomlorrie_farrelly) | 1 comments Hello, everyone! I'm delighted to be a new member of this group! My own novels include Western Historical Romances (TERMS OF SURRENDER AND TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT), alternate universe/time-travel romance (TIMELAPSE), and contemporary romantic suspense (DANGEROUS, THE GUARDIAN'S ANGEL). All have at least a touch – and sometimes much more – of the paranormal. TERMS OF SURRENDER was a finalist for the prestigious Orange Rose Award.
I love to read the J.D. Robb "In Death" series, Stephen King, earlier Dean Koontz (like "Watchers" and "Lightning"), Robert B. Parker, Linda Howard, and Elizabeth Lowell. I'm always intrigued to find out what other folks are reading and enjoying! I hope you'll visit me at http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

James | 1 comments What if I introduced myself by claiming that I, James Glaeg, am in a position to bring the world the definitive scoop on Marilyn Monroe? You'd be skeptical, and well might you be. Yet that, in a certain way, is what I do with my new book Casting Norma Jeane. Of course at this moment I'd love for every member who sees this to get totally intrigued -- to lose no time visiting my book and author pages at: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
-– checking out my claim -- signing up for the BOOK GIVEAWAY -- liking the blog I've started -- and above all reading and reviewing the book. But the present message is supposed to be about my joining the James Mason Community Book Group, which has just happened at Rick's kind invitation. So let me just say this is exciting for one who loves books and movies equally – and who by the way happens to remember, like yesterday, sitting directly behind George Cukor in a screening room at Warner Brothers studios on the night when the famed director viewed his own completed James Mason/Judy Garland classic, A Star is Born for the very first time!

I had a selfpublished book out in 2010,and now have written 2 novels for YA which was just picked up by a publisher. They are Spiritual Paranormal, the genre of my choice and passion. They have a focus on strong characters thrust into a world of the unknown. Both novels, are spun off of real historical facts and events that most are unaware of. As a Children's Reading Specialist for over twenty some years I know how much they love to read about 'Things that go Bump in the Night.' Please visit my website at www.lorrainecarey.com

John Martel | 3 comments Thanks, Rick. My name is John Martel (www.johnmartel.com) and I'm a NY Times bestselling author of four legal thrillers with a new novel (The American Lawyer) coming out on November 1--yikes! that's next week. My last critically acclaimed novel--Billy Strobe--came out the week before 9/11 and tanked, relative to our expectations. I'm older than dirt, and it's taken me 10 years to recover. People are understandably skeptical when you've been out of the game for that long, but I'm hoping for a rebound. Our work can be tough, but we have no choice but to write, right? So, I wish the best to all fellow writers. I know your joy and your pain. John

Michael Stolle (goodreadscommichaelstolle) | 4 comments HI,
Thanks to Rick for giving me the opportunity to join this group. As this discussion is about ‘introduce yourself ‘, here we go!
I’m a new author. In June I took the decision to publish my first book ‘The French Orphan’ – a historical novel set in the 17th century.
Why did I start? I was frustrated that I didn’t really find the kind of books that I wanted to read – so I ended up writing my own. I want to entertain my readers and I want my readers to travel back into a very exciting period of European history.

My book is about friendship, adventure, fun, humour, suspense and romance. Sounds simple, but well, I can assure you, it’s been like embarking on an emotional rollercoaster ever since.
If you have some time to spend and you share my passion for history or a good story, take a look and for sure, let me have your feedback.
The sequel ‘The secrets of Montrésor’ is almost finished and it would be great if I could share its adventures with some of you!
Sorry if this sounds like an advertisement – I promise not to spam in the future and will be following your discussions attentively.
The French Orphan

Larry Bjornson | 1 comments Rick - Glad that you found me and made me aware of the group (and I actually am a fan of James Mason: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Center of the Earth may not have been the pinnacles of his career, but they made a big impression on me when I was a kid).

I am the first-time author of an historical fiction novel, WIDE OPEN (Penguin Books), set in 1871 Abilene, Kansas. The story closely follows the actual events of Abilene's extraordinary peak year as a cattle town, including a pretty deep character study of Wild Bill Hickok.

I have a lighthearted Goodreads blog on how I wrote the book, and got it published: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

I also have a substantial book web site at www.wideopennovel.com full of history, images from the era, interesting graphics, and background for the novel.
