Hello, I will be a debut author in November 2012 when my novel entitled Alter Ego is published by Spore Press. My Author Page is at http://www.facebook.com/toryallyn1962... by and give me a like...thank you!

Frank, I'm having a GR giveaway now for my light mystery TAXED TO THE MAX. This is my first time and I'm wondering if it was easy for you, if everything went okay, and was everything like you expected. Or did you have to deal with unexpected stuff.
Thanks for any info!
Hi, everyone :) Rick, thanks for inviting me to join! I'm Jo Ramsey; I write young adult and occasionally adult urban fantasy and contemporary novels. My 13th book came out the week before last. I look forward to getting to know people here and talking about great books. I am kind of shy and tend to lurk, but I promise to talk occasionally, especially if people talk to me too :)
Once again, thanks Rick I'm glad to be part of this group!Just wanted to let everyone know about changes in my book list:
NEW book: A HOOK IN THE SKY, a Baby Boomer Novel:
A Hook in the Sky
Robert's just retired and decides to become an artist, renewing with a childhood dream - but that's not counting with his artsy, cool wife who thinks he's a dodo, stuck with old-fashioned art...
NEW Revised Edition of Fear of the Past, now called THE PHOENIX HERITAGE. Has a new cover too:
Flying in the Past
Told from the standpoint of a teenager who is a "gifted child", made lonely by his extraordinary mental abilities, this is a coming-of-age story like no other. If you enjoyed Pulitzer Prize author Junot Diaz 's The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, you're going to love this book. It's about an immigrant experience à la Oscar Wao, but in reverse. Tony Bellomo is an Italo-American born in New York who feels different from everyone and leaves America to go back to Sicily, the land of his ancestors.
Shown here is just the first book in the series: there are two more already published and a 4th on in the works!

Thanks so much for your invitation, Rick! My name is Jim, and I am really excited to join this amazing Community as an avid reader with a wide range of interests, both in fiction and nonfiction. I don’t read quickly or set reading-challenge goals, but I do read every day. I am also a fan of classic movies, and from the James Mason catalog I would include North by Northwest, Heaven Can Wait, and The Desert Fox as favorites.I am a career neuroscientist with interests in all aspects of how we think - in both helpful and harmful ways. My research focus has ranged from neuroplasticity to cortical development - all of my publications are in neuroscience journals and online. My usual warning is that reading them can be soporific and/or hazardous to your health (!), but I am happy to share links with those who may be interested.
When I have time, I like to chime in on a variety of discussions. I am generally interested in the play of ideas, and happy to read the thoughts of others.
I love it here on GR, and am very happy to be a new member of this fabulous Group!

Rick - thanks for asking me to update my books here, I know I introduced myself some time back, and I received notice on my email that you said something to me but I can't find that response on this huge thread, nearly 6000 messages, wow! Perhaps a glitch on my computer, sorry, I don't like to sound rude. Totally unintended. In any case, if you read this, please receive my thanks and congrats for a very very lively group!

For a few weeks now, the recently new posts are remaining set as new. Each time I view new posts I'm being directed to posts that are weeks old. Is this happening to anyone else? I guess it could be in my internet settings, but I don't think my settings had been changed prior to this issue.

Welcome, Jo!I'm very shy, too, but this group--and indeed all of Goodreads in general--makes everyone feel so welcome and included that it's very easy to become involved. You'll find yourself talking up a blue storm in no time! :)
By the way, congratulations on having 13 books published. That is very impressive!
Hi all, I m kader poet and novelist ,that s really a pleasure to join the group and learn more from you all .I hope that we will exchange ideas for cultural understanding .My first novel is on amazon "THE TRIP DREAM ISBN-13: 978-1403379559 .The novel is talking basically about a journalist kidnapped by a group of terrorists who took him into a cave where different tortures exercised on his weak body .Some chapters of the story puts light on the gloomy point in humanity thinking and suggest a kind of understanding to establish a bridge of self reconciliation and cohabitation. People think it s a piece of writing to explore the way in which terrified people endure life and resist to deadly pressure and having sufficient courage to oppose terrorists .It is maked by the universal terror and the universal love lay in man alone .
Hi everyone! Rick, thank you for the invitation to join. What can I say? We all know why we're here. We love books! I was a reader long before I was a writer, but the love of books is why I do what I do. Zoe Dawson is my alter ego. I also write under Karen Anders and am traditionally published with both Harlequin Blaze and Harlequin Romantic Suspense. I love suspense, paranormals, syfy, fantasy and mystery. I have embarked on a self-publishing journey. I have to say that it's been the most exciting and freeing experience I've ever had. The Going to the Dog series was rejected by a few publishers and had been sitting in my computer since the beginning of 2000. They're light-hearted, comical reads that involve dog characters with a touch of mystery in each. If you take a chance on my first book, I sure hope you enjoy it. It was sure fun to write.Happy reading!

Hello my name is Susan and I can't say enough how much I enjoy reading. I have many great authors but first that always pops to mind is Stephen King. I love horror but also love a great romance book, so Linda Howard is also a fave. Thanks for the invite Rick, look forward to joining in a bit more once I familiarize myself with the Goodreads site. Stay well and happy reading one and all.
Hi Rick, Thanks for reaching out to me.
I've written short stories, & magazine articles my whole life. I live in Sedona, AZ & on the shore of Lake Michigan, in the summers.
My first Thriller is on Amazon.com. "Visions of Evil." It is a paranormal & historical thriller. Here is the latest review.
"If you enjoy suspense, Visions of Evil is a MUST read! Action packed and full of twists and turns that will keep you up all night to see what happens next. Neiman keeps you on edge throughout the entire book. I could not put it down! The story intertwines the past and present brilliantly. It is truly a thriller from beginning to end! I am looking forward to reading J. E. Neiman's next book, Visions of Rodeo, and hope there are many more to come!"
I love to read thrillers and intense mysteries.
I'm currently reading Michael Koryta's, "So Cold The River." Great author!
My website is JENeiman.com. And my blog is jeneiman@blogspot.com.
Check out my latest blog "Crawling Old Man...Mark Twain's Warning."
Again, thank you for the invitation.

Hello, my name is Rick. I saw a comment about this group and was struck by the James Mason reference. He was my mother's favorite actor. One of those infamous family stories is wrapped around James Mason with which I will now bore you all. My dad was English and met my mother here during the war. They married. Someone asked my mother about his looks. She said, in front of him, dad reminded her of James Mason. After saying this she promptly added, "He's ugly." Guess you had to be there but it was an oft repeated family anecdote to which dad rolled his eyes and my mother tried to explain away. Adding to this my dad did favor James Mason in looks and persona.

Thanks for the invitation to join, Rick. I couldn't resist the name of the group. I'm addicted to watching classic movies on TCM. It got me through unemployment, being single at fifty, etc. etc. Now that my life is going well, I still watch! I'm a college writing professor with a Ph. D. in 19th century British novels; the bigger they are, the better I like them. I have recently published my own fiction, the first in a trilogy of paranormal fanatasy, more than touched with literary/film echoes. If anyone is interested in a new voice, you might want to take a look at Home Schooling: The Fire Night BallI'm more than happy to gift an eBook to anyone who will write a review, as I have only one so far. Links for eBooks for purchase are on my webpage:

Much thanks for the invitation Rick! I'm Lee Mandel, a physician with the United States Navy. I'm also a published historian and recently appeared on the History Channel's "Ten Things You Didn't Know About JFK" as a result of my work on JFK's medical history. I've also just republished my debut novel, a work of historical fiction, entitled "Moryak: A Novel of the Russian Revolution." You can check it out on my Goodreads page, Amazon.com, and also my website, http://www.leemandelmd.com. I'm delighted to be a part of this group!

I've been a member here for some time but thought I would introduce the NEW me. The NEW comes from this being the first day of retirement. Left the day job and the gray cubicle behind.Hopefully I can discipline myself to write more on my latest crime novel and get it released by December. I've got some important things to attend to in order to keep busy. For instance, I noticed I have some shoelaces that are looking a little dingy and need attention.

Thank you, Rick and Marja for making my day! When a reader likes what you've written (actually written, then rewritten, and rewritten (smile))it is the most wonderful feeling imaginable. Glad to be included in The James Mason Community Book Club. Looking forward to my daily post digest. All the best, Madeline
I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. I am a former homicide detective (still working as a detective) who now writes books. Thank You Rick for Inviting me in. Well, let me see, my name is Wendilyn Emrys, and I am a Bibliophile. My parents say the addiction started when I was taught to read at a year and a half and started on Nursery Rhymes and Aesop. I soon graduated to the harder stuff, Tales From Shakespeare and Dinosaur Books ;) No really a life long reader, and scribbler of stories. I graduated from UCLA as an Historian, with an emphasis on Archaeomythology and Ancient History. I was the first person to ever be credited on a feature film as 'Archaeomythologist' on the 1995 film "Hideaway", and have worked with LACMA, the WGAw, as a paralegal on Federal Murder and Espionage Cases, and a couple of Doctors here and there. I've written some articles in the past for local periodicals, and a couple of papers just for fun. I have just edited and co-publilshed my husband, Jonathan Emrys' debut SciFi/Futurist Novel, "SCARECROWS: A DANDY World". There were some pitched battles, but we both came out of it alive, and still married. I am working on my own debut novel, in the Historical Horror Genre, entitled 'Bloodthirsty & Dangerous: A Vengeful Ghost Made Flesh' which will be a three volume series. Turn about being fair play, Jonathan will be editing and co-publishing my novels.
Good day. My name is June McCullough and I am so please to be a part of this group. I currently have two books published, On the Other Hand, an inspirational story, and Home to Stay, a contemporary romance.Look forward to getting to know all of you.
Hello. I'm Dustin Hill, and I'm pleased to be a new member of this group. I'm a fan of both political fiction and nonfiction, with a particular emphasis on economic matters. I'm currently reading Robert Samuleson's The Great Inflation, and have on my to-read-list Currency Wars. I believe manipulation of financial markets and national economies could become the world's the weapons of mass destruction. In my day job, I'm a political and business reporter for a U.S.-based news organization. I'm also a published author. My new book is The Chinese Banker, a piece of political fiction about a Chinese plot to ravage the U.S. economy. But I promise I won't use this group to try to sell my book. (Or at least not too much.) As my publisher can tell you, marketing isn't my strong suit. (Though I have posted a description of the book under the your new releases section.)
I'm still finding my way around Goodreads, and looking for friends. I add almost any new friend, so if you are interested please send me a friend request.
Thanks,
DustinThe Chinese Banker

Great to join what looks like a very interesting group. Thank you, Rick, for the invitation. I'm an author who has written in several categories of fiction and non-fiction as well as being a passionate and wide-ranging reader. I also help people to learn how to write, including a free booklet on how to write a short story. My main current interest is epic fantasy but I have also written science fiction, contemporary fiction and thrillers. I like music and film and ran an art gallery for nine years. I'm helping to make people aware of a great but little recognised artist, Dave Pearson. If people want to know about him, even to get hold of his pictures, I'd be glad to help. There's a trust dedicated to it. I have no commercial interest just love of art.
Just had the novel (hah, in both senses) experience of running a book give-away on Goodreads featuring my fantasy, The Snowmelt River. I was very surprised at the numbers of "to-reads". I hope to repeat the exercise with the sequel, The Tower of Bones, on publication in a few weeks time.
The Snowmelt River
