James Paddock (jameswriter) | 2 comments Greetings to all. I am James Paddock, Indie Author and avid reader; love reading new Indie Authors. As an author I claim no particular genre, though I lean toward light SciFi and a bit abnormal (vs paranormal), though I am currently working on my first mystery. POD published my first some 10 years ago and then went digital just over a year ago with all 8 of my titles, under the publishing shingle, Desert Bookshelf Publishing. (desertbookshelf.com) Now retired from the daily hassles, I live in Southern Arizona amongst the heat and prickly cactus.

Louis Lowy (louisklowy) | 1 comments Thanks Rick for the invitation. I look forward to being a member of the James Mason group!

My name is Louis K. Lowy. I'm the author of Die Laughing, a humorously dark sci-fi adventure set in the 1950s of flying saucers, communist paranoia and live television. Below is a brief blurb. If you're interested, I'm presently giving away an autographed copy. Go to Goodread's Die Laughing page and press the 'enter to win' button. Thanks!

If you’re a comedian and the world’s fate is in your hands, it’s no laughing matter.

Beamed aboard an alien spaceship, Las Vegas funny man Sam E. Lakeside is forced to participate in a plan to rob the earth of its oil.

When the shape-shifting aliens—who take on the form of Trixie Norton, Nat King Cole and others they’ve seen on TV—and their leader, a power-hungry mobster, murder Sam’s best friend and manager, Sam vows revenge.

He recruits a blacklisted comic book writer and the mobster’s girlfriend, and drags them cross-country to thwart the aliens. Their journey takes them to New York City and the Steve Allen Show, where the key to the alien’s conquest lies.

Sam, embroiled in an escalating tangle of violence, love, and lies, is forced to choose between what he wants most in the world—to be a star—or the planet’s survival.

Michael Clark | 1 comments Hi to everyone,
Just a line to introduce myself. I am Michael Patrick Clark, and the author of two books to date. The first is a conspiracy and espionage novel, the second a memoir. Rick kindly invited me to join the James Mason group a couple of weeks ago, but as a newcomer to Indie publishing and the world of networking and social media, I seem to spend so much time writing, blogging, networking and constantly making time consuming-errors that I haven’t had time to formally introduce myself, or to thank him for his kindness. . . I apologise for my tardiness, and do so now.
Although I have contributed nothing to date, I do take the time to follow many of the comments and discussions on James Mason, and hope that, when I have stopped chasing my own tail and learnt a little more, I can begin to properly contribute, rather than simply observe.

I was surprised to find such a large and active reader's group here on GR. I'm quite happy to meet you all.

Let me introduce myself. I'm a SF author with Hotspur Publishing who has published my first novel, Freedom Club. My novel is a very deep philosophical speculative fiction, and I'd love to meet up with SF readers who share an interest in books like mine. Also, I'm currently running a giveaway here on GR, so I welcome everyone to go sign up for the book if you have an interest.

Best,

Marion Marchetto (lovey_ladyblue) Hello! I am an author of historical fiction novels. My first three (Merline Madagascar Series) are narrated by three different houses who recount for readers the passing of history as told through the different occupants of the houses. All are connected by Merline Madagascar who is an historic interior designer and sort of house-whisperer.

My newest series if The Bridgewater Chronicles. Book 1 - Stairway To My Heart - was released in late June and if being well-received.

I also write a monthly newscolumn - Valley Memories - where I reminisce about growing up in the 1950s & 1960s. I also am a blogger and book reviewer. My blog is available for free on my website and is also available by subscription on Kindle.

In my spare time I am an Administrative Assistant (gotta pay the mortgage!) and guest speaker.

I mostly write historical fiction. I L-O-V-E to read. My TBR pile would fill a room! I read historical fiction, romance (Regency & contemporary), an occasional mystery.

Honored to be invited to join this group.

Jay Dee Archer (jarcher) | 6 comments Hello. I'd like to thank Rick for the invitation. I'm an aspiring SF and fantasy author, though I like many more genres. I also enjoy Shakespeare, and am interested in reading some good old classics. I have a book review and writing blog at http://ireadencyclopedias.wordpress.com named "I Read Encyclopedias for Fun." The reason I chose this title is because when I was about 6 or 7, my love for reading started with the encyclopedia. I enjoyed reading it a lot, and that developed my love of science, history and geography.
I also run a couple other blogs, one dedicated to Japan, and the other dedicated to my daughter and parenting in Japan.

Michele Brenton (banana_the_poet) | 2 comments Hello everyone. I have been a member here before but got timid and left.

I'm being brave and coming back - so please bear with me.
What has made me particularly brave is finding out today that my rhyming comedy parody Fifty Shades of Blue - the trilogy by Michele Brenton Fifty Shades of Blue - the trilogy - is currently the NUMBER ONE bestselling poetry Kindle book on UK Amazon!!!

I am so excited I wanted to share the news. I know it isn't very dignified to be so bouncy & maybe I should be more blase about it. But I am excited and hoped you all might be a bit interested too.

I'll go away now and stop showing off. Well here at least ;)

My latest (co-written with my Border Collie, Angelo) is called Jimmy Mender and His Miracle Dog. It's a different kind of love story, one with a gay writer, a cowboy Marine, and a dog who puts everything right in the end. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone likes to read. Happy reading!

Angie West (angiewest) | 8 comments Good morning guys, I'm Angie West, I do a little writing, blogging, and a lot of reading. I like to help people and give advice and I'm kinda a hillbilly, if you want the truth. Glad to meet everyone.

I guess I should post a little something about my books and my blog. I write romance and urban fantasy. I've had 2 shorts published, Incubus 2011 (Cobblestone Press) and Spirit of the Wolf 2012 (The Wild Horse Press). I've got my first full length urban fantasy novel coming out soon through World Castle Publishing, Shadow Cave. I'm 45k words through Shadow Cave's sequel Return to the Shadows, and I'm shopping around a completed novel called The Fifth Hour, a romantic suspense.

I blog at www.angiewest.wordpress.com and have full pages on my books (and works in progress) at www.aurorasbell.com I also write a section on my blog called Angie's Lessons. From time to time readers email in questions. I do my best to answer within one week. A very talented artist named Sarah does the illustrations for some of the Lessons-she draws a mean stick figure!

I've also got some new author resources up on the blog, including two different lists of publishers who accept short stories and magazines that accept poetry.

I like to take pictures of things like soap and streetlights. Those can be found under the Gallery tab on the aurorasbell site.

I've also got a giveaway going on right now on the blog for a free copy of Incubus.
