Currently, I am studying dialects, primarily Appalachian variations by regions. I hope to have my Masters finish next year in linquistics.

Jeannie Faulkner Barber | 1 comments Hello everyone, I'm Jeannie Faulkner Barber. What an honor to be included in this great group. Here's a bit about me. I'm a multi-published author with Scent of Double Deception and Taste of Fire. I'm thrilled to say, Taste of Fire, a mystery about a female firefighter is dedicated to all firefighters, rescue workers, and police. (All those characters are in the novel.) It has been number ONE here on Goodreads going on 4 months in the Best Modern Mystery, Crime Fiction Books. If you'd like to check it out and give me your vote to keep it there a bit longer, I'd be very grateful.

Recently I stepped out of my 'mystery genre box' to co-author an enthralling fantasy with Bernadette Thompson Martin of SC. It's called Destiny Never Sleeps and Book One is Quest of the Two Queens. It should debut mid September.

Besides writing, my other passion is drag racing....yes, I know...polar opposites. If you're interested, here's a great interview from a local tv station regarding these. Enjoy...and I'd love to hear your comments!http://bit.ly/SOL2ID

Jeff Dawson | 17 comments I received the inviation from a fellow friend and author Miss Lynn Hallbrook. Thank you for the invite. This site is too say the least extremely large. I have several books out that can be viewed at lddjenterprises.com. The most current is WWII/Vampire Thriller. These vampires don't sparkle, no not at all. They are the ones of old. They seldom take prisoner and if they do, it's only for short period of time to complete their united mission:Riding Poland of the Third Reich. http://www.amazon.com/Occupation-eboo...

Jamie Sedgwick (jamiesedwgick) | 1 comments Hello, I've been a member of this group for some time (Thanks, Rick!)but I've never introduced myself. I write fantasy and science fiction for all ages (everything from steampunk to fantasy-themed mystery). I try to keep a low profile at GR and similar places because they are specifically designed for readers to openly discuss their opinions, and I think most of us writers are usually best off keeping our big mouths shut in that regard.

That being said, I definitely love to hear from readers, so don't be afraid to message me or invite me into a discussion. I also have a very liberal policy regarding review copies of my books, so if any of my titles interest you don't be afraid to ask! Thanks again Rick for letting me be part of your group!

Chester | 11 comments Thanks for the invitation, Rick. I've been writing in one form or another for more than sixty years. I started writing novels after retirement from the workaday world in 1989. I have five published in the Greg McKenzie mystery series and two in the Sid Chance mystery series. Both are PI's in Nashville. My latest project is to publish the first three manuscripts I wrote, a trilogy of Post Cold War thrillers. Spy novels were hard to sell back then, but they're becoming popular again. The first one, Beware the Jabberwock, is just out in print, also available in ebook. I look forward to being part of this group.

Forrest Rick, thanks for the invite! I am Forrest Aguirre, World Fantasy Award-winning editor and author. My reading tastes are too diverse to categorize. I'm a multi-reader, many books at once. Currently I'm reading Gardens of the Moon (Erikson), Ill Met in Lankhmar Leiber) and A Visual Dictionary of Architecture (Ching). My favorite author is Italo Calvino, but there are a bevy of others running a close second.

Some of my own work (including a couple of free stories) can be found at:

This is a warts an all revelation of what goes on behind the closed doors of the UK's penal system. Funny anecdotes often revealing controversial policy decisions this is the story of my journey from new officer to Governor grade and demoralisation with my subsequent early retirement.

Tony Levy (author_tonylevy) | 3 comments I hope so. Been getting some great reviews on Amazon, but to be honest just getting the book published has already achieved more than I ever thought would happen.
I now have left my mark on British publishing and that's something for my Grandchildren to have as part of their history.
Mind you if I make some money then that would be a great bonus, that I would not turn down.
