Thats great! I remember when my Grandmother was in her 90's- she loved to read but would forget the entire book about a week later- envied her a bit as she read Oliver Twist 5 times in about a month and each time it was like reading this wonderful classic for the first time.

welcome Clayton! I agree- he was superb in that film!! not even nominated for an Oscar! Although having read his autobiography- it is clear that James Mason had little regard for the "Hollywood Game" or pretense- so I don't think he really cared that he was never given an Oscar- nominated three times- but never won- which, in itself - is an indictmentment of the whole Oscar "process"

I'm an author sure, but also an avid reader of all sorts of fiction, provided it's not a set, mechanical genre-type where everything is predictable from plot to character...because I love to be surprised and intrigued when I read. And I hope my writing does the same for my readers. So far I've been published in Italian (I live in Italy and write also in Italian) but since 2011 I have two books available in English on Amazon:

Steve Vernon (stevevernon) Hey all. I want to likewise thank Rick for his invitation to join this wonderful group. I'm a writer - and I spend a lot of time talking with other writers at various forums - but I don't always get to hear from so many readers.

I'm what you call a "hybrid writer" - or at least that's what several of my publishers refer to me as. This means I publish both traditionally in trade paperback format and also digitally in e-book format. I'm just one of those weird creatures that would rather write than breathe. In another life I was that old dude sitting around the campfire telling stories.

If you want a sample of my work in e-book format try SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME - a fast-paced novella of hockey and vampires. Sudden Death Overtime by Steve Vernon

If you want a suggestion for a sample of my work in paperback then I might suggest Sinking Deeper Or My Questionable (Possibly Heroic) Decision to Invent a Sea Monster by Steve Vernon or one of my ghost story collections Haunted Harbours Ghost Stories from Old Nova Scotia by Steve Vernon

If you just want to hear how I think about life well you could check out my blog http://stevevernonstoryteller.wordpre...

I'll try and make it a point to hang here a little. If any of you folks have any questions about writing or storytelling I'd be more than happy to answer them.

I am checking in to thank Rick for the invitation to join this group. I am Diana Wilder, a bookworm from childhood. If I wasn't reading, I was looking at pictures. I have some favorites that I can't live without, and have read some best-sellers that made me groan.

It's good to be here - thanks again for the invitation!
