M.J. Johnson (johnson_mj) | 22 comments Hi everyone, My name is Martin. I live in Kent UK. I am married and we have one son. I trained as an actor at a place called RADA and have worked fairly extensively in all areas of the theatrical business. However, these days I devote most of my time to my writing. I recently brought out my debut novel, a horror/thriller called Niedermayer & Hart by M J Johnson. I am delighted to be part of any group that bears the name James Mason - in fact, my wife is away tonight and my son was going to come over to watch the DVD of Salem's Lot with me. Anyone who has seen it will recall James Mason gives a truly chilling performance in it.
Many thanks

Martin

Hi M.J.
I chose James Mason because he is my favorite actor- since I was about 10 years old. In Oct of 2009, when I started this wonderful Group- I chose to use James Mason's name to honor his memory and do my little part to keep his magnificent career alive. I have several nice picturesof him in the photo section, and quiz questions about him in the polls section- everyone check them out! There is even a picture I drew of James Mason!

btw- James Mason did write an autobiography, published shortly before his death, and a book with his first wife- a whimsical account of their life with there many cats- he was a great cat lover- and he drew all the illustrations in the book- THE CATS IN OUR LIFE

M.J. Johnson (johnson_mj) | 22 comments Anyway Rick, thanks for inviting me to join this excellent group. I very much look forward to participating in it. Over the last few years I have turned my hand to writing. My debut novel is a horror/thriller called Niedermayer & Hart, I have another book 99% complete apart from a few minor changes I plan to make and I've just begun work on a new book. So far I've been fortunate and picked up very good reviews on Amazon (mostly UK but some .com)and I recently got my first on Goodreads. So, upwards and onwards!
Thanks once again Rick and members of the JMCBC for inviting me along.
Martin

Paige Dearth | 2 comments Rick - thanks for the invite to the group.
If anyone is interested in reading a story that will take you on a journey beyond your imagination then I think you should check out my novel, Believe Like A Child. My story will bring you to the dark side, a place where no one wants to go, but must, in order to better understand the evil that exists. My novel is about a seven year-old girl who is raped by her live-in uncle. The story reflects what can and does become of children that are subjected to such treatment. Child abuse, of any kind, is the most horrific thing that can happen. While the beginning of my novel is based on my real life, the remainder is a work of fiction that was written to entertain the reader and to convey a powerful message. You can read the first 11 pages at www.paigedearth.com. I will warn you that the book is graphic and would tell you that while some may have difficulty reading it just remember that it is much more difficult to live through it. My novel is available in paperback and Kindle on Amazon.com. I look forward to hearing back from those of you who give it chance and give it a read!

I have just finished my second novel, When Smiles Fade. It’s currently with my editor and you can enter at the link below to win a copy when it is released in July 2012.

I’m thrilled to be a part of this group and hope to learn from all of you and find new friends!

my name is Jason Henderson and I am the author of one novel thus far,Halfway to Nowhere . I love reading books, always looking for something new. Either it's because i find it interesting, it's new, or I think I can learn something from it writing-wise.

I love to go camping and chill with nature, traveling-- even though being on an airplane scares the willies out of me, and of course hanging out at bookshops. I LOVE music, too.

Jim (captivatex) | 1 comments Hello to everyone, and thanks to Rick for the invite!

Along with my wife I publish select, quality books. We don't churn out titles because we believe that good reading stems from quality writing. Our approach has resulted in several award wins for our authors, so hopefully that means we are doing something right! Most of our titles are on my Goodreads bookshelf, which I am also updating right now, but all our titles can be seen on the websites www.ll-publications.com and www.logical-lust.com

Great to be here and this sounds like a vibrate area to dicuss books :)

M.J. Johnson (johnson_mj) | 22 comments I haven't got the stamina for all night reading myself - but my 88yr old mother-in -law (and life-long avid reader) stayed up all night reading after I'd given her a copy of my book. Which is a compliment I guess. Unfortunately, her memory is very poor and if you asked her a few weeks later what it was about she wouldn't be able to tell you. But she still loves reading!

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 284 comments M. J., my 91 year old mother, still a professional musician, read & commented on my newest book before publication.

It's SiFi, about Time Travel, not her normal taste but it contains a lot of true history that included Schumann & his peers & her insight, being astute & to the point, was more than helpful.

The book is dedicated to her, but not only for that assistance.

So don't count the older ones out.

They're just in a different Timeframe.

Cyndi Goodgame Very cool. I myself stayed up till 2:40 am reading till page 79 and had to force my eyes to close it was getting do good.
