Mal Warwick (malwarwick) Thank you, Rick, and thank you to everyone else who may have stumbled on my reviews on Goodreads, or on the more extensive list of reviews and commentaries on my blog at www.malwarwickonbooks.com.

My name is Mal Warwick. I'm happy to be part of this larger community, and I invite you to follow my blog, which has begun to gain a significant following.

I read and review nonfiction, chiefly current affairs and history, as well as fiction, including thrillers, mysteries, and historical novels, with occasional trade novels thrown into the mix.
.
FYI, I also write nonfiction. In the past, I wrote about my professional specialty, which was fundraising for nonprofit organizations. My 20th book, now in process, is about a novel strategy to end world poverty.

Mal Warwick (malwarwick) Rick, why are all the comments arranged in chronological order? Practically everywhere else I've gone, they're in reverse chronological order, so that visitors see the newest posts at the top. Isn't this possible? Or do you have some reason to arrange it the way you do?

You control the color and contrast
You control the horizontal and the vertical.
You can control the order of posts with the 'date' and 'newest' at the top of the thread.
We now return control of your computer to you.

Mary (maryfirminaolcom) | 32 comments Hi Rick and Friends, I love this group but I have been MIA, trying to get my second book moving. I just want to let you know that DEADLY PLEASURES is now on sale at Kindle for .99. What a deal!! Blueink called it "Sex in the City meets James Patterson." And Kirkus went so far as to say they would recommend it for men. This is an exciting murder mystery with a quirky back story. I just gave it to Patrick McNee so
we'll see what he says. Glad to be back, Mary Firmin

I can't find anywhere on Goodreads that gives info on how to communicate with them. Any suggestions?

Hi Richard- I carry on many conversations with members one on one- the best way is to click on their picture- under it is "SEND A MESSAGE' click on that- and you can email all of the new friends you have!
Hope this helps!

Natasha Simmons (nsimmons) | 1 comments Hello! Thanks for the invite. I am a Texas girl who loves to read and write romance, because every girl needs a bit of romance in their lives! My debut novel Simple Pleasures was published in February so I've been busy getting it out into the hands of romance readers and even in the hands of those who aren't normally readers of romance. During the week you can find me substituting in the high schools in subjects ranging from English to Welding...(I don't discriminate)but hopefully I will put my English degree to work next year with my own high school English class trying to create lovers of literature.

Joseph (jazzman) Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I can tell, about the only people who read this particular post are writers like myself curious to see if any goodreads reader responded to my "shout out." Rick does a great job, and the rest of the James Mason is excellent. I simply have the feeling that when it comes to stirring up interest in our writing, there's not much happening here or on any other goodreads site. Reader interest comes, in my opinion, solely from getting to know someone well and having a real relationship with him/her.Am I wrong?

Interesting point- that's why I very much strive to make this a "Community" in which there are many threads for all members- readers (like me) and writers to interact in more than a simply superficial manner- but have meaningful discussions on a wide variety of topics - hence forming that vital meaningful relationship

I'm the author of dark fantasy novel, The Darkening Dream, as well as the co-founder of video game developer Naughty Dog and creator of Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter.

My debut novel, The Darkening Dream, fuses intense action with a love of history and all things supernatural. On the eve before creation God created ten special things, among them the Archangel Gabriel’s horn, destined to sound the End of Days. But what happens if you’re a seventeen year-old girl and an ancient evil thinks it’s hidden in your basement?

Joseph (jazzman) Michelle,
You are a very special person indeed.Reader's are no doubt fortunate you just happen to have a few(self-published) books to help cement those burgeoning relationships.
BTW, even a self-published poet should recognize that when you begin a commentary with "Well,I came here to build relationships,"you are not only directly insulting the person whose comment you are referring to, but indirectly insulting all other authors who by inference are not as noble- minded as yourself.
Words are very important. A writer should be careful how she uses them.
