Use of Personal History in Fiction:Self-Exploitation?

I think that it would be difficult not to use personal history to some extent when writing fiction. Personal history isn't limited to dates, times, and events---it also extends to thoughts, feelings, and reactions, which we can then utilize when writing.

I agree, how else can you properly convey emotion is there is not some minimal amount of truth to the work?
