At first I thought Sam was a werewolf and then I thought he was a venator because he took him time to kiss Elle and then at the end it was something different which was great because I didn't see that coming.
P.S. the whole time I knew he was something I just could not figure it out. Which I personally like not being able to figure character subspecies out because it just makes a book that much better.
