I was thinking that the chomper did not infact chomp the peeps but in fact sent them to the out side, and therefore cog would be the king of the outsiders and they'd all live happily everafter! Wouldn't that be awesome

That would be a wonderful thought, however, I don't believe that they have reached their destination yet. If I recall correctly (it's been a while since I've read the books), Trella did, at one point or another, actually breach the outer wall and found herself face to face with the void of space.
