Jennytang i've not finished the book yet.I am wondering why Moss took that money? Of course, money can fix a lot of thing but for costing his life. I still cant get it.

Chris Campion Because man is greedy

Chris Campion Because he didn't foresee the events that would eventually take place. I'd probably take 2 mill if I found it just sitting there. I think the point of the book is showing how Man will corrupt himself given too much temptation. Also, if you think about it, he never gets to enjoy the money. He's always running. It's a universal story of tragedy really.

Jennytang thank you, Chris. it is plausible. He didnt see what is coming. It actually happens quite often in our real life when we are greedy with something. then the pressure never ends...

I think it's hard to read this book. Why named it " No country for old men"? Is it that old men couldnt get used to the change of the world...

Chris Campion Yeah, basically. The sheriff is older and he likes to reminisce with the folks his age about the way things "used to be." Throughout the book, he just can't come to grips with what is going on in his territory, and so he quits.

Jennytang But it doesn't seem the author wrote much about it. He described the crime scenes and people a lot but sometimes no action only the results... Why did he connected that crime with the Sherrif? For me, it seems the world changed in the bad way, nothing warm and pure...
