Why so weak?

I am almost done with this book but I am getting more and more irritated as I read. We have been told countless times that the main character is army trained but I never see it. I understand being weak to supernaturals so that's not what bothered me. It's when the other sensors in the book take her captive. She barely fights back and they take her so easily. They are human not matter their numbers she should have been able to do far more damage to several of them before she got pinned.I am so sick of authors giving military background on characters especially females and then not making them use it. Instead it's as if she just has to make their characters weak or just stupid with lust hormones to what give it drama. There would have been plenty if not more drama had their trained military characters actually kicked some butt before being subdued.
