Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments What do you think of the book so far?

:-)

message 152: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet I still behind Jonathan, end of last week I was very busy at work and when I got home I was playing PS3 game for good couple of hours. So by time I finished I was to tired to read for long. So still trying to finish my last book :-( hopefully on my days off this week I can catch up.

message 153: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments No worries my friend. I am only on the second chapter myself. I had a nice barbecue yesterday with my girlfriend Jennifer. We roasted vegetables like eggplant and zucchini. It was delicious.

Take your time and don't feel pressure to read. ;-)

message 154: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Thanks Jonathan, but I do truly want to read Entombed and join in the buddy read. So I will do my best to catch up. Not playing at Red faction guerrilla tonight just going to read. That sounds yummy, I like eggplant. Zucchini is also great. I not done a barbecue in ages, my family does it proper Turkish style, all the trimmings, rice, potatoes, salad, bread and humus. Shish kebab and chicken Shish :-P lovely

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments I am liking Entombed a lot better then Dead Sea. Am I the only one so far? :-)

message 156: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet If you enjoying it, I am looking really forward to start the book my friend :-)

message 157: by Jeff (last edited May 27, 2015 02:12PM) (new)

Jeff | 20 comments I finished it last night. It's a quick, fun read. General tone and comparison spoiler encompassing the whole book: (view spoiler)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Finished the book today and I really liked it a lot better then Dead Sea!

message 159: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Ooops looks like I be the last to read this book :-( Victorian underworld is taking a bit of time to read. Got far in Red faction guerrilla though :-) glad you enjoyed the book Jonathan !

message 160: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Take your time my friend! I still need to finish that crazy long fourth Dark Tower book before our next buddy read anyway. I am glad you like that video game, I picked up Dying Light on the PS4 recently. I will let you know what I think of it.

message 161: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Dying Light ? Not heard of that Jonathan, what is it about ?

message 162: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments It is like the best open world survival horror game right now: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dying_...

I like it a lot more then Dead Island and it more well made too!!

message 163: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Wow it sounds good Jonathan, just I do not have ps4 yet. Red faction guerrilla is a open world game set in the future of Red faction 1 and two. Which were first person shooters. It's about a revolution by the Red faction to overthrow the authoritarian rule of the Earth armies on Mars.

message 164: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments I still wouldn't mind doing a Fallout run sometime in the future since I still play Fallout on my X-Box 360 and PS3 sometimes. We should do a timed playthrough together one day in the future.

message 165: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Yes that does sound like a good idea Jonathan :-) I managed to get some extra reading last night and should be able to finish book by end of week hopefully. Then I can start entombed :-)

message 166: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Is anyone interested in seeing the new Jurassic Park movie next month?

I really want to see the new JP, looks so cool.

message 169: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet I am actually, hopefully it will not be bad like number 3. The Jurassic park series appeals to my inner child, as I always love Dinosaurs and monster movies as a youngster :-)

message 170: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments I've been playing the old Dead Island with my girlfriend. Did you ever finish it Mehmet?

message 171: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Any Twin Peaks fans in this buddy read?

I started Entombed, sorry for being so late everyone !

message 174: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Yeah. Jennifer and I live a hour away from each other so we like to play during the week days. :-)

message 175: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet May of asked before but how does Dead island co op play work my friend ?

message 176: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments It works well. I only have it on the X-Box.

Do you have a PS3 version?

message 177: by Aiden (new)

Aiden Wellnitz (giver) | 1 comments I say Left 4 dead 2 is amazing. Ellis is awesome.

message 178: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments I love Left 4 Dead 2....

I have been trying to get my girlfriend into the first one on X-Box.

Mehmet if you ever get a X-Box 360 you have to let me know!!

message 179: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet For sure Jonathan I let you know my friend :-) yeah I was playing dead island on PS3.

message 180: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Do you play online with the PS3?

My PSN ID is gabrielzeros

I feel like you haven't added me yet. ;-)

message 181: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Not really play online, if I connect I let you know and add you my friend. I promise:-)

message 182: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Mehmet did you enjoy the Fallout 4 trailer? http://fallout.bethsoft.com

message 183: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Wow I am impressed that looks amazing, using what they learnt in previous games plus Skyrim, they are trying to aim high. Will this be only for PS4 and Xbox1 ?

message 184: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Yes. Unfortunately only PS4 , X-Box One, and PC my friend.

Gives us more of a reason to go back and play the originals right? ;-)

message 185: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet So true my friend :-)

message 186: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Had a problem downloading the original on my PC. Might try my mom's laptop. My desktop doesn't display the opening graphics nicely.

message 187: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Yeah know that problem well my friend, although new computers often have more then enough power to play the old games, they do not always play the game smoothly. :-( you trying to play the first fall out game ? I completed Red faction guerrilla yesterday.

message 188: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Yeah. I think I may of figured out the problem. I had to mess with the setting from my icon menu. I am trying to mess with the first Fallout on the PC.

It isn't very newbie friendly. :-)

message 189: by [deleted user] (new)

Anyone read Brian's, Darkness on the Edge of Town?

message 190: by Jeff (new)

Jeff | 20 comments Yes, it was decent.

message 191: by Jeff (last edited Jun 08, 2015 10:03PM) (new)

Jeff | 20 comments More to the point, I actually wrote a small review of it, this is the most relevant part of it:

3.5

Keene's books are generally hit or miss for me, but I thought this one was pretty good. There's nothing startlingly original here, society breaks down exactly how you might expect, but the book scratched the itch I had for the "small town beset by evil" sub-genre that are few and far between these days, at least compared to the 80's and 90's. I enjoyed the conversational style employed by the narrator. I see some complaints about the ending not being wrapped up in a nice little bow, but it works fine for me.

message 192: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments I enjoyed the psychological aspect of Darkness on the Edge of Town the most and how it preyed on the Evil Within.

Thanks, Jeff, Jonathan, seen it and thought it looked interesting. Just purchased the paperback. :)

message 195: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments I think you would like it.

Anyone here a Twin Peaks fan? I am joining a Twin Peaks buddy read. They are really short books.

Sorry Jonathan, way too much to do this month and next (as usual I've overstretched myself, 4 read for reviews, final edits on two short stories, and two beta reads).
Better get on with it then hadn't I *shakes head at one self* :)

message 198: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments That is ok.

=)
