I realize she has to stay inside because of her disease, but what a big bummer! I'm at about 42%(view spoiler)[ I just think this is a bad situation, I don't think Mom should've fired Carla, I mean it is her daughters only social outlet, and also Mom was a bit ridiculous about daughter keeping secrets, I mean she is a teenager. I just googled the disease and only 4010 babies are born with this every year, so it very small percentage, and if left untreated, the life expectancy is only two years. The numbers are from births in the US

Does anyone else feel like the big reveal (i.e., her mom being the sick one, not Maddy) came too late in the story to justify all the confusion and improbability of the plot up to that point?

Overall, not bad. Reminds me of Anna and the French Kiss in the way that it's a super-sweet romance that you really need to be in the mood for.

Madeline's dictionary definition of 'ocean' really struck me though. May have been my favorite part.

Just knee-jerk thoughts, though. I'll probably give this a full review after I think about it a little. Looking forward to hearing everyone else's opinions. :) (hide spoiler)]

52% (view spoiler)[I don't know how I feel about this novel... I like the little diagrams, they're cute, and it's nice how easy it is to read. At the same time though, her conversations with people seem so fake. Mostly with her mom and Olly; I don't find some of the conversations believable. I think instal-love is just not my thing.

Also, what is the plot exactly?? I'm halfway through the novel and I'm unsure. What I do I like is the main character's diversity and how straightforward the chapters are! (hide spoiler)]

Also, I don't know how I felt about the 'plot twist'. I'm all for happy endings, but it just made me feel sickened and confused. I mean, she's an EIGHTEEN year old girl, and this has been going on how long? I think the ending could have worked, maybe, with a different novel - one that was a bit more dark and serious. The formatting was neat though and this was really easy to read; I breezed through it. Anyways, will review soon! (hide spoiler)]
