A few years ago Publisher's Weekly did an article about historical romance and in it was proclaimed that the VIking time period was dead. Fortunately, my editors never bothered to read the article. Instead they went through and looked at the time period that had done well for them. The Viking had always done well and so I was asked if I wouldn't mind as they did not want to get me locked in the Roman period. So using the Lindisfarne raid as my starting point, I wrote Taken by the Viking and then because I did have lots of fun, I wrote Viking Warrior, Unwilling Wife and finally I wrote The Viking's Captive Princess. The first two did well around the world and I think have proven that no time period is ever truly dead.
