Paul Servini | 4 comments Recently I added J. Dover Wilson's The Fortunes of Falstaff to my books and wrote a review. I actually had a new edition but not having librarian status at the time (I was a new member and didn't have 50 books), I wrote my review under the other edition. Today I added a new edition for this book and when I saved it, a screen said, I could now add my review. I didn't do this, since my intention was to merely change the edition on my bookshelf to the new one. But now, I can't find the new edition I'd added.

Did my not entering a review actually delete the edition I'd entered, or is it just that it takes some time for a new book/edition to appear? Or is there another problem of which I am unaware. Thanks.

The books need to be combined (which I did) before you can switch from one edition to another.

Paul Servini | 4 comments Thanks for your message and sorry for the late reply. I was away for the weekend. The two editions are now combined. But my problem was that immediately after adding my new edition I couldn't find it via the search facility. Does it take a while for new editions/books to appear on the site once they've been created?

To appear, no. To be found by the search's indexing function? Yes.

For future reference, searching by ISBN (which uploads the book from Amazon) is a better way to add a book than adding it manually.
