I'm a bit wary of trying to fix this, since I haven't combined authors before and I don't want to make a hash of it on such a prominant one!
There's probably more profiles around for him, with an easily misspelled name like that, but those are the three I've found so far. The first in that list is the correct one.

Normally I'd tell you to merge the authors. But since she's a GR author, you can't -- so I did. Now you can combine editions.

I wasn't very sure whether we need to merge them either, but it would make sense. We're talking about the same person, only that one page is in Japanese and the other one is in English. Thanks!
My suggestion, although this is non-trivial, is to add the English version of the name as the primary author on each of the ones currently listed under the Japanese version, and move that to the second author spot. That would allow for editions to be combined, without losing any of the data or making it hard for people looking for the Japanese name.
The easiest way I've found is to add the new author in the second position, save the book. Then go in and edit again, and use the little arrow to switch the second author to the first position. (Sometimes you have to click it twice.)
The problem is that you have to do it for each book individually . . .

The first is Sándor Márai:

and the second, István Fekete:

I'm sill a new librarian and I'm unsure how to merge these profiles.
In both cases I merged the one missing the diacritics into the one with them. Those are the more correct versions of the names.

Hello!
I don't know if this is a combine or a delete...so I'll leave it to a Super to decide (it's a typo in the author's name resulting in two different names for the same author, plus book listings ~ luckily only two in the erroneous entry):
a) The misspelled name here;
b) The correct page here.
Thank you so much!

Rivka, Kryptonima,
unfortunately it seems that the Marai aliases, with and\or without accents, are still with us. There are lots of editions of the same books with misspelled names of this author. A quick search can give an idea.
Is there a way to do a massive edit?
Yup. Just do an author merge for each of the incorrect spellings. They'll keep showing up as new editions get imported from Amazon and B&N. Got all the Sándor Márais and István Feketes I could find.

The last one is probably the best.
Thanks!

This actually needs to go in the "Goodreads Author profiles needing merging" topic. I've done it for you now.

The first one is the one that his name is written in Japanese. The second one and the third was in English, but the second one has his last name (MORIMI) first while the third one has his first name first (TOMIHIKO).
Thanks.

They are the same book, same edition.

Authors have two profiles when they publish in two languages where one is transliterated. An example of this would be Anton Chekhov, who has a native profile and an English profile. Other language versions will also exist if the author published in that language. The native form of the name should always be placed first, with the transliterated version as a second 'author'.
