Problem with author's name as I add quotes

I have added several quotes from Samantha Ellis's book Chopping Onions on My Heart. When I type her name — Samantha Ellis — into the form to add quotes, and then click to find that book title in books listed for her, the book Chopping Onons on My Heart is not there.

When I go to Samantha Ellis's author's page and click on > Quotes, then click, "Add a Quote," the form that opens up shows her name as Samantha Ellis. That is, there is more than one space between Samantha and Ellis.

This form then allows me to add a quote from her book Chopping Onions on My Heart and to click and find that book in the drop-down menu of books authored by Samantha Ellis.

There seems to be a major bug in the forms used to add quotes by various authors. In some cases, after you enter the author's name and then click to find the book from which your quote is taken, the books by that author are not in any kind of alphabetical or other order. When someone has written many books (e.g., Alexander McCall Smith), this makes it very difficult to find the book to which you want to link a particular quote.
