The Promise (Thunder Point #5), by Robyn Carr [Start Date: May 11, 2015]

Okay, so doctor fancy pants (Peyton Lacoumette) rolls into our little town with her fancy car. I thought, what is this rich lady doing here?
Then we get a glimpse into her last working situation. SMH!!!!

Peyton's mom said I don’t think this going to work with your man Peyton. (view spoiler)
LMAO!!!
I must remember to use that one with my kids one day!!!

I sure hope we get some illumination because I need to know why she was so desperate.

The difference between the children? (view spoiler)

She's just adorable! Both of the kids are.

I sure hope we get some illumination because I need to know why she was so desperate.

Hmmmm. but she was a doctor as well. (view spoiler)

She's a physician's assistant, my bad but I still think (view spoiler)

I think Peyton's mom and Scott's kids are already my favorite part of the book

Plus, since he had custody, one would assume he is a great dad!

Being a part of such a large family, they didn't get a lot of individual attention. She didn't have her own thing. Plus, Ted and his crew are "familiar".
I do understand it now. Peyton seems like she's a good person

Who knew their mother could be worse?!!

Basque."
I get it now. (view spoiler)

Hes crazy. did you see how excited he got when she said she had been devastated when they broke up? He is a selfish SOB

So proud of him.

I wanted to throttle her here.

I sure hope we get some illumination because I need to know why she was so desperate.

I love the way her mom said that, so matter of fact, but it carried a huge punch!!. LOL!

My hubby's a loud Italian family with hands flying and lots of talking at once and ooooh there's lots of good food!

How fun!

I WOULD LOVE THAT!!!!

Do we tackle Virgin River or is there another series we had agreed to read? I don't remember anymore

I ask because I know we had a list of series people had nominated and we had voted so there was some kind of ranking

Oh, ok!

That's my point. How could she think Scott wouldn't be insecure when she is still got an eye out for a better opportunity aka Portland? It's not like she has committed to staying in Thunderpoint so he can't know that she feels as strongly for him as he does for her.

I don't believe him. The switch was too quick. I don't buy it. Plus since when did he care about his kids? He was mad that he had to go to counseling with his pregnant daughter. HE even tried to blame it on Peyton. I don't believe that he has had a lightbulb moment

The Promise by Robyn Carr
Scott Grant has a bustling family practice in the small Oregon community of Thunder Point. The town and its people have embraced the widowed doctor and father of two, his children are thriving, and Scott knows it's time to move on from his loss. But as the town's only doctor, the dating scene is awkward. That is, until a stunning physician's assistant applies for a job at his clinic.
Peyton Lacoumette considers herself entirely out of the dating scene. She's already been burned by a man with kids, and she's come to Thunder Point determined not to repeat past mistakes. When Scott offers her a job, at a much lower salary than she's used to, Peyton is surprisingly eager to accept…at least for now. She's willing to stay for a three-month trial period while she explores other options.
Scott and Peyton know the arrangement is temporary—it isn't enough time to build a real relationship, never mind anything with lasting commitment. But love can blossom faster than you think when the timing is right, and this short visit just might hold the promise of forever.
