Rory is excavating an area on the old McFarland farm for a project when they discover what ends up being a grave. He later divulges to Nikki that he knows it’s his ex-girlfriend Becky from high school, recognizing the trunk and the locket inside. Nikki immediately steps back as the lead on the investigation. Why this time? Did you have any thoughts that Rory may have been involved?

I didn't think Rory was involved in Becky's death. If he was, he would have known where the body was buried and probably would have stayed far away.

In real life, any cop who was a friend/girlfriend/relative of a suspect would have to step back from the investigation. That usually doesn't happen in fiction. I was glad that Nikki stepped back and started working on other cases.

I never once thought Rory was involved. Totally agree with you, Robin. Just glad that Nikki did the right thing here.

I liked that Nikki stepped aside. It was realistic. I never thought Rory was involved either, but I prepared myself for some touchy scenes coming that would be a problem for one or both of them.
