The prologue opens with a little girl and her older sister Petunia, suddenly aware that a man is watching. It then pivots to present day. Did this scene stay with you throughout the story? Were you speculating as to who might be that little girl?

This scene haunted me throughout. It says so much with few words. I knew something bad happened & kept thinking about it as I read.

Robin (robinmy) | 2485 comments Most of the time the opening scene doesn't stay with me. This time it did. I kept wondering if Petunia or the little girl would surface in this story or if they were dead.

Like all of you, that prologue haunted me until it connected and became clear.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3548 comments I'm with you all. It stayed with me. The whole time I was reading, I was waiting to see how the scene would play into the story.
