I am so sorry to hear this Bev. My thoughts will be with you both. I hope your husband will recover as soon as possible.

There is honestly no problem with waiting; we'll be here whenever you're ready. After the first of the year works, too. You and your husband come first. Sending you hugs and sending him some serious get well wishes.
So sorry to hear that, and glad to hear that at least the worst seems to be behind you. Please take all the time you need, and when you're ready to host again, we'll be right there with you :) Until then, I'm sending you best wishes from Germany!
Keeping you both in thoughts and prayers! Getting your husband well and getting rested are what counts.
Will definitely join again next year, whenever it's up. But family and health should always come first. Sending you best wishes from the UK.
Thank you all so much! He's been released from the hospital to a rehabilitation hospital so he can regain his strength and come home. He was flat on his back for over two weeks, so he's pretty weak and unsteady (what with the surgery and all).

Hoping he's home with you soon! We'll still be here; reading challenges can be retroactively logged, real life can't and is thus way more important!

That's fantastic news. I'll be praying that your hopes come true.
Update on my husband: He was released from the rehabilitation hospital this morning. After a month away, he finally gets to sleep in his own bed again. He's well on the road to recovery.
