Joseph Pederson | 1 comments Hey, I'm a new writer and illustrator working on my first full book project, a high fantasy book that will be the first of a trilogy called The Shadow in the Sunlight. I currently don't have a large budget, so I would like to test the waters to see where I'm at and work out some kinks before I move on to an editor. The areas I most want to test would be the story's general flow, any consistent grammatical or structural mistakes I make, and clarity of prose. The nature of this is something I plan to be general, as there is no pay and it's a large manuscript, so all I ask is engage as much as you want or can and let me know what I can fix and build upon.

The novel explores groups of creatures, ones I either made or added unique features to, and their relationships to each other, themselves, and their gods, as their world gets closer to another continent-wide war. It follows characters on both sides, but focuses on a newly born child of a race called the shades, a deeply interconnected and fast aging group of creatures of shadow and crystal that have been feared and hated since their creation for their relation to the dark. The story looks at how he is forced to grow quickly as he becomes the catalyst for burgeoning tensions he had no knowledge of and how he adapts and learns in this situation that could lead to the destruction of his people. The plan with the series will be to start exploring a universe that has a building and changing mythology and exploring different stories in this ever shifting world.
