Congratulations to the winners and to all teams. Those are some phenomenal stats! The sheer # of pages :O.
Excited to join in next year with my teeny-tiny (albeit consistent) stats, plan is to continue having fun and reading more n more ;)
for most people, it's about the spreadsheet more than anything else... they like the columns/data/etc...
It's definitely become half that for me... easier to maintain spreadsheet, than add everything to Goodreads... especially as GR has added so much bot protection... after 1-2 dozen reviews in a short period of time, I start having to do CAPTCHAs to be allowed to submit more, and it ramps up, and then takes days to calm down and stop requiring... real problem for big readers like me... snowballs the problem of falling behind on GR tracking...

I've seen the spreadsheet - love love love the spreadsheet!!
I have my personal mini spreadsheet but that's more to track owned books, cost and series in progress etc.
Aah, I didn't know about the CAPTCHA in case of reviews. They must have put that in to prevent fraudulent reviews of books etc. Must be annoying! They of course didn't take into consideration the reading monsters like Nirkatze, you and others who would face these challenges. :)
No chance I ever catch you Iain or Nirkatze in numbers, but as long as by end of the year I hit my target I'm happy girl 😁
Waw, congrats to the winners and all the teams!! This is the only challenge were I look out for every year and really enjoy.I'm excited to join again next year :)

Once I fall behind, it's hard to find the energy to catch up... and when I finally do, it generally takes me several weeks of concerted effort in November/December/January...

In years past, the idea was floated of a year of most of the group vs the top readers... real David and Goliath thing... top 4-5 readers vs everyone else... but that loses some of the team aspects for the one side... and also puts alot of stress on to big readers to never stop reading, regardless of life...
That said, this year me and Nirkatze got like 8100 points alone together...
First year anyone has broken 4000 points solo, and I think the first year I broke 3000 points...

Grats folks! Almost 2 million pages is a huge accomplishment as a group!I'd love to see a DCC themed team name at some point... Royal Court of Princess Donut, anyone? Desperado Club?

Donut and the Donut Holes! The Goddamned, Donuts! :D
We pretty much lock in group names when teams are made/leaders change... if ever leaders change again, we can change names...
Or maybe the Lawless Rogues can have a yearly rotating name...

Carl's Anarchists is almost Lawless Rogues!
The Compensated Anarchists
I'd also vote for OIPAN: Open Intellect Pacifist Action Network--took me a minute to figure out what that acronym referred to, but I got it!

The winner of the 8th annual team reading competition:
Congrats to the Horns of Hammerad!
In my humble (and completely unbiased) opinion, the Horns were already the best team, but it's nice to have the proof. ;)
Thanks to everyone who participated, and keep an eye out for 2026 signups!"
