books merged into series incorrectly

Hello, my Christmas book has merged into several of my series and I’m not sure why. Can I have someone assist with removing Christmas In Spite of You with all these series?

I did but I was combining like series. Is that what did it? If so can I just undo it. I have no idea why it included that book. It wasn’t listed in the series I combined

A librarian will have to go through all of them and separate them out again.

Nothing you can do. If a librarian wants to take it on s/he can.

Tried to separate a few, not working very well.
To the author: combining is not the way to set up a series. If you need a series to be set up, post in the Serieses folder and a librarian will create the series for you.

Yeah, the separate tool’s acting buggy. I tried separating works after seeing this request and it’s totally unresponsive for me. I’ll try again later.

I managed to separate some editions (started out with 121 combined books, currently down to 100 combined books), but separating is not working properly.

K.C. you should probably just send this to support. Let them know it is not working for librarians.

It’s finally letting me separate editions but it’s only letting me do one separation per hour. Based on the logs and experimenting with times, the sweet spot seems to be 1 hour and 5 minutes. If I try before that, nothing happens. I’ll try to do more today if possible, but I don’t know if the tool will start acting up again and I'm also limited to one per hour. I can work on this but it will probably take days xD.

Your profile needs tidying up too so I can also work on that. My combine function is working much better than the separate function. There are series that need to be created. As Scott says, you can contact support, maybe they can separate the editions in one go.

Edit: It’s finally letting me separate editions, and it seems to be getting unstuck now. I managed to do a few in a row (it's currently down to 75 editions yay)

I managed to separate all the editions, yay! Now onto combining the strays. I also fixed the serieses back to how they were before. Please let me know if there’s any incorrect separation, some books were later published as omnibuses and they share the same titles, so it’s easy to get mixed up, have to be mindful of the page count. Any bad combination wasn’t intentional.

There are also several series that still need to be created. I’ve made a few already, but some are still missing, so feel free to request them here as well if needed. There are a couple of duplicate series that need to be deleted aswell. The combine function is still buggy, so it might take a bit to get through all the strays.

For future reference, authors can’t edit or combine series themselves, all changes need to be requested in this group. I’ll report back once I’m done.
