PtP R25 - Team 2

1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a 'nice to know' when categories are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.2. Linguist (Captain) - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)
3. Name your team. Using this round's theme, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)
Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 6 November
4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)
5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!
* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.
You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.
I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.
Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.
6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.
7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.
8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.
9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)
10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A | Announcements thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.
The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)
Key selection and completion post information. You must have ALL elements in your book posts. For selection post Option 1 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please note which qualifying bookshelf/list you are using or the tags that justifies that it works.
If the theme is based off the bookcover, post the cover. If there is a letter count in the title, publication date etc, please note these details.
For selection post Option 2 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.
For selection post Option 3 you must have:
Week #
PASS
For the completion post you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review
Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.
If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.
IF YOU NEED TO CORRECT A POST FOR MISSING INFORMATION or because the didn't qualify etc, please REPOST this information in a NEW post, particularly when the request is more than a day old. Its difficult to find older posts when going backwards in the threads.
Some reminder and wishes to ask of you 😊-- Selection and Completion posts need to be separate posts. Even if you tend to read your book as soon as you pick it, the posts need to be separate.
-- Please link the edition of the book you actually read
-- Please try to post your selection within a few days of the call, - that's not absolutely required, just helpful to me for keeping track of who's done what.
-- Please use the GR page count of the edition you read - if that edition doesn't have a page count, then you can link to another edition but state what edition it is and why it's different.
-- See Message 3 for the format for posts.
-- It's really really super super helpful to me if you would post a broken link in your selection post. You can do this by inserting an * or a space in the book link after the first bracket. This makes it so much easier for me to copy the exact book edition you read in the tracking posts. Example:
normal book link: Love on the Brain
broken link: [*book:Love on the Brain|59571699]
-- To make things easier for you, if you choose Option 2 (reading from a teammate's shelf), each of our Read shelves will be linked in Message 4
Hellooooo Team Two!! Welcome to the best team challenge (and the best team, I'm sure!)I see names I recognize but not sure I've played on a team challenge with any of you. If I have and I've forgotten... well, I'm getting forgetful in my old age!!
Just a bit about me... I'm married, have 2 grown sons and a daughter in law! Granbabies soon? One can only hope!
I also have 1 furrbaby but he's not so much a baby as a crotchedy old man now. But we love him!
I read all romance all the time... any genre. Don't love YA, some NA or high fantasy but I read them if needs must! My favorites would probably be romantic suspense or sports romance. Love pnr too!
Let me know if you've played before or have any questions. This was the first challenge I ever played on GR so it's near and dear to my heart!
Hi everyone! I'm new to the group so this will be my first time joining this challenge, but so far I love team challenges just to get to know what others read/like and why.I'm from Belgium so CET, but since I don't sleep much I can check in at all times if needed only in weekends I do try to have a few extra hours of sleep. I don't know many booklovers irl, so GR is my go to to chat about books.
I love all kinds of romance, but prefer MM to MF or FF. But a good story is a good story to me, so open for recommendations. I seriously read all subgenres or give them a try, probably pick more often paranormal or contemporary and historical is often a hit or miss for me.
Some more details about me, I don't have children only 2 very cute and cuddly dogs, a horse to ride and some chickens. So not much time left to do anything else.
Nice to meet you Jooke!! Welcome to the PtP!! Please ask questions when you have them… no question is too small 😊If you have name ideas… please share!
I'm not good with names and like alliterations so that limits the options, but here's my input for names:Read & Reed Between the Lines

Hello, everyone! PtP is one of my favorites too. I live in NYC with my cat, Mr. Darcy (bonus points if you guessed my favorite book!), since my daughter recently flew the nest for college.I’ll devour just about anything in print, but unless it’s for a challenge, 99.9% of my books are romance. MM is my go-to, but not by much—I’ll happily dive into MF, FF, and every other combo out there (yes, monster/tentacle love absolutely has my heart too).
I’m a speed reader and apparently allergic to sleep, so I’m almost always nose-deep in a book (1490-day Kindle streak and counting!). It’s only gotten worse now that my “mommy duties” have been officially retired. Adjusting has been a challenge since we dropped her off in August. The kid who swore she’d visit monthly has graced us with her presence exactly once—and if it weren’t for my birthday, who knows if even that would’ve happened? Still, we did raise her to be independent and self-reliant, so I guess we’re getting what we asked for!

Hello team! I'm Jamie, I'm from Texas. I've played PtP so many times that I've lost count at this point but it's always a fun time for me. I got into FF books in 2021 and haven't looked back since. I love them so much. Primarily contemporary romances but I'll pick up literally anything as long as it's sapphic. I do also read some MM and if I read MF it's usually Nora Roberts or from paranormal series that I love (ie anything from Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, the Anita Blake series, The Carpathians series, etc). I also am a huge lover of rereading favorites. I have a folder on my kindle called Comfort Reads and I'm constantly in there.
No kids for me just a cry baby Yorkie who follows me around and doesn't know the meaning of personal space. LOL.

Jill, I meant to tell you that my husband read Pride and Prejudice for the first time this year and loved it! (I still have not read it lol)
Also, hi everyone! I actually think I already know most of you, but I'm Amanda and also a very frequent PTP player. I was mostly MM for a long time but now I'm a good blend of pretty much all LGTBQIA pairings. (Since I'm newer to FF I'll be stalking your shelves Jamie! And I'll throw Summer Breakdown your way if you haven't read it yet). I'll also read MF but usually mostly by trusted authors or if the premise looks too good to pass up. I've started a bookstagram so most of my reading lately is arcs which gives me less wiggle room, but I also read an absurd amount so I make it work.
I have one toddler who is 2 going on 15 and thinks he's in charge of everything and 2 dogs who just want to sleep all day but can't in the chaos lol.
Amanda wrote: "Jill wrote: "Hello, everyone! PtP is one of my favorites too. I live in NYC with my cat, Mr. Darcy (bonus points if you guessed my favorite book!), since my daughter recently flew the nest for coll..."I try to read it at least once a year.
Nice that we all seem to like 4-legged companions. I wish my dogs wanted to sleep all day long, but I have high hopes that once my puppy grows up she won't be able to drive my oldie nuts... 55kg of bouncing dog is not safe to be around lolPersonal space, what is that?!?
I have to admit I haven't read P&P yet, almost no classics actually. I tried to remedy that with some buddy reads, some were successful some were not.
Jooke - I'm not much for classics either, not sure why, maybe because some of the older language is harder to read and some of the prose can be difficult too. I've read P&P, Sense and Sensibility and Lady Susan. I think with Jane Austen, you have to KNOW she has a dry wit, otherwise you get lost trying to take her literally!Overall, classics are hit or miss for me and I usually only read them if I have to :-)
