Liz Benferhat | 1 comments Hi librarians,

I’m the author of When the World Hurts: Why the World’s Pain Makes Sense—and What You Can Do About It.

Can you please delete the following old/unpublished editions that were early KDP/Ingram uploads and have since been replaced?

* Hardcover — ISBN 979-8-9999618-0-8
* Paperback — ISBN 979-8-9999618-1-5
* Hardcover — ISBN 9798999961877

Can you please also merge these two paperback editions, one is KDP and one is IngramSpark, and make the KDP version the primary:

* 979-8-9999618-4-6 - KDP paperback - PRIMARY
* 9798999961860 - IngramSpark paperback

The final list of active editions should be as follows:

* 979-8-9999618-4-6 - paperback
* 979-8-9999618-5-3 - hardcover
* 9798999961822 - ebook

Thank you very much for your help! Take care, Liz

Valentine | 1722 comments Hello Liz, I’m afraid librarians would not be able to remove the three unpublished editions; Goodreads does not remove out-of-print editions as, if they were available once, people may still have read or own a copy. Please see:

* https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...

If the editions were unpublished before they were ever made available though, you can get in touch with Goodreads staff: https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...

Regarding merging the two paperbacks; as they both have distinct ISBNs, we would not be able to merge one into the other, as they would be considered separate editions, rather than duplicates.

You can make whichever edition you would prefer the primary edition though, meaning the one that is visible on your author profile, and comes up first in searches for the title. Librarians aren’t able to set primary editions, but luckily you can as the author (or you can ask staff for help, if you wish). There are instructions on how to do this here: https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...
