So I'm not Christian...but I think I mentioned here in this group. If we turned into a Christian society I wouldn't oppose it.

That moment when you think you’re having a friendly debate with someone, but it turns out they are highly personally invested in the topic and badmouths you something fierce behind your back to a bunch of people, like you're an utter demon but you were nice the whole time…Awfully specific I know. I won’t say who it was or what group (not this one) or what topic, or give any hints to what it was (they didn’t name me but the topic was very clear and specific). I won’t be so specific.
I don’t fault the person (I won’t even specify gender) at all for demonizing me, it’s just that some of these people forget Im a human too. I try my absolute best to be as cordial and respectful in debates, even when they get nasty toward me, and for them to turn around and demonize me afterward is just a little perturbing.
Sorry for this but I don’t have any place to rant, so I picked this lol. If it’s disapproved of I’ll delete it, I assure you I’ll understand. And I’m not trying to start anything or whatever, if chaos ensues I’ll take the initiative and delete it, I just wanted to rant real quick.
aw i'm sorry that happened to you, you've always been very respectful when i've debated you. i understand getting emotionally invested in a topic and getting fired up about it (which i'm definitely guilty of) but the best thing to do imo is just pause the debate and step away. you seem very well-meaning and that definitely wasn't called for, i'm sorry :((

Hi, I know you said you hope 'they' don't reply here but I will anyway because there are some things I'd like to say that I want everyone to hear. I am the person Chulu is referring to.Firstly, I got very worked up because, in a debate about whether furry-related things should be allowed in schools, I was debating Chulu and she said multiple things that were deeply hurtful - which I pointed out, and she continued the behavior. Chulu ridiculed therian and furry identities, referring to them as make-believe, dress-up, fantasies. Which is extremely invalidating and hurtful, and personal to me because I have multiple very close friends who are therians or furries and I myself identified as one for a while. Of course Chulu is allowed to disagree with furry and therian identities, but straight-up invalidating them in the way she did is not okay. She said it wasn't hateful, but I found nothing in her words that was loving or understanding. Call me dramatic, but it's the people that dismiss identities and insult others' existences that lead to kids hating themselves and harming themselves. I'm serious. A therian kid hearing those words enough isn't going to like themselves very much - and it is not something they can control. Just like being LGBTQIA+, it is NOT made-up or a fantasy, it is real, just like your god is to you.
Now, after getting worked up, I stepped away from the debate and went over to my mental health group. I went to my personal journaling space and ranted about how I was feeling. I did not gossip. I didn't call names. I just ranted. And it was my personal space - I wasn't 'badmouthing you to a bunch of people', I was venting about my feelings, and I did not call names. Here are my exact words, simply posted in my space, with no names:
"Just mind your own freaking life please and stop using your opinions to control what others can do. And I actually don't fucking care if you don't think people can identify as dogs because if my friend identifies as a dog I'm going to support them because even if I don't understand, it's their life and their right. If you wouldn't do the same for your friend than please fuck off.

I had every right to say what I wish in my personal venting space without harming anyone or calling names. And I don't see how Chulu is the 'bigger person' by not naming me, because that would imply having someone smaller to compare her to and I did the same thing.
Also, it was not about differing opinions. It was about her actually disrespecting and invalidating many people, beliefs, and identities.

I did not spread misinformation… how else was I supposed to perceive that? I apologized to you right there in the journal and you deleted my reply, but not the bad comments about me, which I felt was kind of messed up because I felt you didn’t let me have that dignity of apologizing.
And I said that I really don’t mind the comments, but it disturbs me that I was made out to be an awful person when I tried everything not to be. I said several times I wasn’t trying to be offensive. I don’t know what else I was supposed to do. Shut up? It was a debate, putting down the opposition with “you're being offensive” is just not really satisfactory enough to me to make me say “ok, yeah Im wrong.”

You did spread misinformation. You said I was gossiping and badmouthing you, as if my post was directed at people and as if I named you. No. It was a vent, because I was hurt. And I deleted your comments because, while I appreciate your apology, I did not want to continue any discussion in my personal space. I wanted to vent, and I did that, and I have the right to control what is, again, my journal. I'm sorry if you think that's messed up.
I did not say you should shut up. But you can debate about whether furry-related stuff should be allowed in schools without ridiculing and harming multiple groups of people. You did not have to say it's all made-up and fantasy, just as I can debate the existence of a god without calling the entire Christian community crazy and ridiculous. There are ways to debate in the debate club without actually going against the group's rules. I can bring this up with our moderation team though, if you'd like.

It’s been updated with your most recent comment, but yeah it was there, otherwise I wouldn’t have seen it. And I explained why I saw it. Am I not allowed to look at someone’s profile? It’s not set to private. I wasn’t “poking around,” I was literally just curious to see if you mentioned our debate elsewhere and saw you did. I don’t understand the issue, truly.

There are many religions that don't believe in God? Or believe in multiple gods? Also your pledging that the U.S. was made under Christianity which it was not completely

Under whose god? How do we know it's the Christian god? There are thousands and thousands of gods across different religions.
It's probably uncomfortable for people who do not believe in god to say it so they shouldn't have to
