How do you organize your bookshelf ??

How to organize a bookshelf 😭 I wanna make it prettier but have no idea what I’m doing 🥀I also have limited space so

okay so i currently have 2 book shelves. one is for fantasy. that one is by series. for the other its romance/realistic and that one is organized by height

and a third one just for my Harry potter books

There are really helpful ideas on Pinterest. If you search up size relevant keywords like small shelf/big shelf/medium shelf yaddah yaddah yaddah you get it, they'll supply you with loads of really nice ideas.

I organize mine by authors last name

mine are alphabetically by author makes it easier and not when adding new books lol

I put each genre on its own shelf (or multiple shelves for romance because I have A LOT) and then also by author on each shelf

Alphabetically by author's last name!!! I don't like when a bookshelf is organized by color UNLESS it's all stand-alones, cause it DOES look cool, but it breaks up series!!

My bookshelf is really skinny, so it’s an awkward shape to work with. I pretty much just do tallest to smallest. And when it’s to full I’ll turn books on their side and stack them. I’m pretty basic. 😅

It’s controversial but I organize by color. But I keep my series together at the same time lol. Basically chaotic but it works

I have 2 shelves one is for crime books and dark aesthetic and the other one is more for romance and fantasy because the colors fit better and one shelf is darker and the other is brighter

mines color organized! rainbow ofc

color organized but a couple shelf’s have specific authors books put together (ex: holly jackson)
but other that that it’s a rainbow free for all 😝

based on which order it goes in
ex: twisted love, games, hate, lies. then after that I have king of wrath, pride, greed, sloth, and Envy. then after that I have Striker and hopefully defender

Sometimes I keep it by genre, sometimes by the writer and sometimes when I feel happy I rearrange it by colours......

By author, series, sometimes colour and biggest to smallest in series ( I’m actually scared of people who js randomly shove books in their bookshelves, they are true psychopaths 💀💀💀)

I organize my bookshelves by author, genre and if it's a book serie or a standalone 😊

well i have categories to determine how i approach organizing my shelfs (from most important to less, i organize my books following the next divisions)

*the first category is READ or TBR*
If i have read them, they stay on the higher shelves if i havent, low ones so i can reach them easily (regardless of their other categories).

*my next category is LANGUAGE*
i read both in english and spanish so i have a shelf for each language (unless the book is in the first category, in which case it STAYS in the lower shelf)

finally we have AUTHOR
i just put the series with the series and the authors with the author

I like to organize my books by color! I also love displaying covers of some of my favorite books 📚

at first, i did it in order of when i got the books (oldest in front, newest in back) but since that looked funky i do it by the size & color (if possible) of the books! ☺️

They get grouped by series and the series have no organization.
