New to Erotica.. Tired of the same ol same

Hello! Long time follower of Goodreads, first time member! Haha I am new to the world of Erotic/Romance books and I need help finding a good series or standalone’s. Every book I buy is roughly the same - cocky arrogant rich male, woman who doesnt stick up for herself, male character degrades woman character, woman allows it and then they bone. All of it being completely unrealistic. Which is my biggest problem. If Im rolling my eyes three chapters in (Crossfire series), Im closing the book. So while Im all for the alpha/submissive stuff, I need it to be REALISTIC. Does anyone have any suggestions on steamy sexy novels but where the story line isnt corny and fake? And maybe the woman stands up for herself for once? Thanks!

Oh I love the crossfire series so perhaps I’m not going to be your best recommender, but I’m gonna throw some out there anyway.
I read more darker romance or fantasy so these are along those lines:

Sara Cate has a series about a bdsm club and (I think) the fourth book in the series is Mercy and it’s the woman that’s the dom.

The Book of Azrael (I’m on book 3 of the series, and I don’t believe it’s finished) has one of my favorite fmcs, who is an absolute badass.

Everyone recommends this if you want a strong female but it’s a good series - the Mindfucked series

Butcher and Blackbird has a strong fmc - I really enjoyed it. It’s dark but funny at times.

If you don’t mind RH/Why choose/fantasy, Blood Oath Morgan B Lee may work for you too. The fmc is the one running the show the whole time.
