I hope everyone who wanted to join this read managed to pick up a copy while it was free on Amazon (not showing as free for me any longer.)

This is the NON spoilers thread so please use spoiler tags if you want to post anything spoilerish in this thread.

Will this be everyone's first read? & do we all have the same cover. I would think the original publication would be both hard to find & quite valuable.

& I have started & I'm enjoying the writing so far - I always like a French setting!

I have the ebook (thanks for the telling me it was free whoever did) but haven't started it yet. Still have to slog through my IRL book club book since I only want to read one at a time on my kindle.

I’m looking forward to the setting as well, and found myself pulled in right away by (view spoiler)[whatever conflict got Rachel in hot water with her aunt. Then once she arrived, whatever role Terence would play in the story, and why Rachel’s relatives are so uptight around him…also, I hope the little boy isn’t going to play too big a role; she’s already found him “disturbing” and he seems like a hyperactive screamer - not my favorite type of child character! I certainly agree about Claude, though I suspect he will be quite prominent. I imagine his refusal to promise not to touch the key will be cropping up later.

All very intriguing so far.

Just got it on KU. I’ll see how I like it. I have several books to read this month for Bookclubs.
