1. Thomas 😂 he's so chaotic, but I relate to his wanting to do the right thing while also feeling completely inadequate.2. Tanis really gets under my skin.
3. I think it would have added a lot to the colored forest to have some solemn moments with Elyon instead of endless ecstasy. It looses its impact, and there are lots of other amazing attributes to God to explore besides playing and joy that I think will be part of Heaven.
4. Love it. 10/10. Would have liked to see more character growth from Rachelle, but there are 2 more books for that.
5. Rereading this one again was fun, but I see how I've changed over the years, too. I am more balanced in my relationship with God, rather than charasmatic, and would have valued a more balanced portrayal of God in the colored forest.
I enjoyed the blend of thriller and fantasy. I don't read a lot of thrillers because they either get too gorey, creepy, or sexual (from non Christian authors at least) for me, so I do really enjoy the blend in this series. I know its not for everyone, and thats okay too. I haven't liked any of Ted Dekker's other books, but this one is 👌

Idk I didn't love the whole book in general so it would be a complete rewrite. lol

It was really good and made we want to keep going but it didn't quite redeem the rest of the book for me.
