@Becky Harris I just started reading the ARC last night and I noticed that! I just thought it was a kinda crazy coincidence because I didn't realize that's what Elyon meant. I like how much more unique it is than just saying The Creator it is. :)

GR is impossible sometimes!
And yes, I always hope the author can pull it off by the end too.
I don't know if I've seen Elyon outside of mine and the circle series but I'll probably be on the look-out for it from now on because of that.

@Jessica, yes, there is!! I'm not a graphic novel reader, but I could definitely see it being easier to read!

Y'all, I went to this community book fair giveaway thing today, and they had every book in the Circle series (that's the name of the series, right?) except for Black...

At least you got most of them, though!
At least you got most of them, though!I’m planning on starting it tomorrow and trying to finish it this weekend, I’ve been soooo busy so I haven’t had time yet.

I'm a little further and the struggle is a little less now, but the innocence/childishness in the perfect world is hard. I don't know how to explain it, but it's just kind of strange and hard to read. lol But I'm a little more invested now than I was before.

How far in are you? I had trouble with the first 25% or so personally, I was just really lost. After that it was pretty good imo.

Yes I agree with you, Becky. I don’t love the characters in the perfect world. It is really just a struggle to read.
I’m 50% in and it still hasn’t clicked for me. I’m more invested than I had been but I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series. We’ll see how I feel by the end.

This is probably my 3rd or 4th time reading it and yeah I struggled with the characters in the colored forest the most this read through. It makes me stop and wonder what it sould be like to be completely innocent, never even knowing what sin was, never having felt suspicion or distrust... And those are fun / interesting thoughts.

Question: because I read both the novel and the graphic novel, would I put the BotM points on both of them or just on the actual novel?

Also, I thought Black was okay. Lowkey I was confused most of the time and things in the book weren't making much sense to me, but that might be my own fault because I kept reading Black late at night when I was tired... 🫠 The ending was crazy enough to make me want to continue with the series, though.

Oh forgot to comment here. I didn't love it. It kept my attention a bit and the ending made me want to continue the series but I chose not to right now because I honestly don't think I'll love it, and I don't have time to keep forcing myself through something right now.
Yeah, Jazz, I don't love graphic novels.

Same, Bets. I decided not to continue the series right now for the same reasons. I added it to my series to finish in 2026, but who knows if I'll actually get myself to finish them then. 😅

I forgot to mention that I also really didn't like the focus it put on the virus, and most especially the vaccines, which definitely put a damper on how much I enjoyed the book although I do know that it's essential to the plot in one of the worlds. But I think it's just that with my views on them, it bothered me personally more so than it probably would have the normal reader, but still it was more than enough to make me consider if I should have dropped my rating lower than I originally did.

GR is difficult, is it not?🤦♀️
Ugh. I am sorry it's a struggle. I tend to keep going with books I don't like for the same reason. Plus, I always have hope the author will turn it around.
There's another Christian fantasy series that also uses Elyon, but I cannot remember which one...
