4. Comparing elves

4. Assuming that you have read The Lord of the Rings, how do you compare Corinna Turner's elves with Tolkien's? Are they similar, or are there differences, or both?

One of the reasons I wanted to read this novel is because I'm a fan of Dungeons and Dragons and I longed for a world with elves, dwarves, halflings, and dragons, which is why I so desperately wanted this book to be chosen.

There's a novel called "The Broken Sword" by Poul Anderson in which elves are amoral and closer to paganism than Christianity. This novel inspired Michael Moorcock's amoral Elric Melnibonélainen novels. Also in a counter-intuitive vein to Tolkien is Sally Scott's novel (I made a video on this topic) called The Elven Princess La princesa de los elfos , in which the elves were more sinister.
Lord Dunsany's The King of Elfland's Daughter elves are also somewhat different from Tolkien's, and the house elves in Harry Potter Series Box Set.
