Hi there,

I had a discussion here asking for the cover photo to be updated but was advised I had to request a new edition. I'm a bit confused because the ISBN etc are exactly the same but here's the new edition request as advised.

This is really insightful, Laura. Many authors get confused when ISBNs remain the same but platforms still request a new edition usually it’s because even small changes like cover, format, or metadata can trigger a new listing. Curious, did they explain how this affects visibility or discoverability of the book? That part often surprises authors.

Hi there,
I have no contact with the author. I originally opened a discussion to have the book cover added.
The image that was added was not the full cover of the book so I followed up to ask for the image to be changed. In that discussion (linked above) the Goodreads Librarian who answered my topic advised that he couldn't change the cover only and I had to post in the New Editions.

I've done that but was just confused because I don't think the different cover is a new edition - it just has a different review quote on the front (or something similar)

My question is - how do I request the change or addition of an alternative cover for this book?
