Alfred Bester - The Rat Race (1955)

A hot 'book tip' just came my way and I shall pass it on to you all.

Alfred Bester, is a renowned name in (classic) science fiction.

But like many of his celebrated peers (Philip K. Dick, Poul Anderson, Stephen R. Donaldson, etc) he also penned the occasional mystery.

The title below (from 1955) is very highly regarded by the pulp community at large. Fine, hard-boiled prose and Hitchcock-ian plotting.

It was originally released in hardcover as "Who He?"


It's a novel with the wild-and-woolly days of the early television industry as background.
