I reverted the bot edit which set the first edition as Kindle. This did not require a superlibrarian so you could have done this yourself.
The first edition now holds the ISBN13 while the second holds the ISBN10. Superlibrarians cannot handle ISBN issues. You will need to contact support. After they move the ISBN, you can ask again for a merge.

Thank you, David! However, I have noticed that people who already read the book have it now shelved for the 2nd time, which happened ~17 hrs ago, and which is reflected in their recent updates.

I'm not sure why you say the books are shelved for the 2nd time. It seems to me like they are shelved once, but the date is wrong.
Anyway, I'd try the "Questions (from Librarians only)" folder first.
