If the book was never published and never will be published, the author must contact support directly to request that it be removed.

Dobby, I think the book was published. It is the cover that was only a placeholder and was never used.
Fumijo, you are a librarian, is there any reason you cannot merge this yourself?

They tried to do that, but were unsuccessful. They knew I was a librarian, so contacted me to see if I could help. It's already combined with the actual releases (as shown here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/combin...).

I can combine editions, but I see no way to merge (unless that's what you meant). This edition has a placeholder cover and no ISBN or ASIN. The actual released editions have been added. The only thing that needs to be done is to have this pre-release cover entry removed.

Fumijo, I apologize for my misunderstanding your request. As David pointed out, since this cover was a prepublication placeholder, we can merge it with the proper published edition.

I have merged the edition in question.

Fumijo, to merge an edition, change the status to "Deleted". I'm quite certain this information is available from the Librarians manual.
