✨🌸Molly🌸✨ | 14 comments Hii so I’m in like the worst reading slump ever, so I was wondering if anyone had any good books/series to recommend.

The issue is I don’t really like smut and I’ve read most of the popular ya clean recommendations already (six of crows, divine rivals, inheritance games, throne of glass etc).

So if anyone could recommend a book or series that is slightly less commonly recommended but still smut free, that would be great.

Thanks❤️

✨🌸Molly🌸✨ | 14 comments Oh and I don’t care about genre. I will literally take anything at this point.

1. Insanity Is Hereditary you get it from "Your Children"(2023 edition);
2. The Origin Of Words According to DJ;
3. Uncle Tom The President (do not allow the title to fool you)
let me know what you think.

Starry*Night*Messenger | 1 comments The Emberverse series by S.M. Stirling explores what would happen if, all of a sudden, all technology and some chemical reactions, like gunpowder, stopped working. Set mostly in the Pacific Northwest, the series offers a fascinating take on the post-apocalyptic sub-genre.

William Leppard | 1 comments please please please, read a confederacy of dunces 🙏 it's never mentioned, and so funny. it's also pretty short and should get you out of a slump

Christian Meteor (christianmeteor) | 2 comments Maybe a hot take, but if you are curious about the backrooms, you could try my 80k word novel "Jeff's Long Weekend in the Back Rooms."

It's horror but not in the traditional sense; more uncanny spaces, atmospheric dread, hopelessness.

It's free on KDP and there's a long excerpt on the Fandom

Terri (tkreads) | 26 comments Try reading any of the books by Vi Kneeland or Penelope Ward. They also co-write together and those books are amazing as well. Hope you get out of your slump!

A Scandalous Venture
This is my historical romance novel inspired by the Regency era. It does not have any smut, just sweet gossip and even sweeter romance!

Megan (megmez) | 10 comments The best genre for getting me out of a reading slump is a page turning thriller. Quick plot, lots of action, you want to know what happens next. Something like a John Grisham novel.

Kristen Brennan | 55 comments The Mortal Instruments is a good series - though it was super popular a few years back so you may have read it.

I'm not sure the age limit you are looking for but if you are over 18 Emily Henry is a good romance writer. There is some mild spice, but it's usually limited to 1-2 scenes... and all are HEA.

The Stephanie Plum series from Janet Evanovich is also a great read. 20+ books and still going (I think). This is about a lingerie buyer turned bounty hunter and every book focuses on a different bad guy she has to capture. It is HILARIOUS! There are 2 love interests and some of the books contain spice, but it's really minor and not in every book (if you saw the movie "The Proposal" and were OK with the spice in that movie - it's the same for this series). If I Love Lucy and The Golden Girls were in book form - this would be it!

Allyson Borden | 8 comments ✨No smut✨
Fallen by Lauren Kate (kinda a light, dark paranormal romance)
Anything by Keira Cas (dystopian, romance)
Divergent by Veronica Roth (dystopian romance)
The color of lies by C. J. Lyons (mystery)
Legend by Marie Lu (dystopian romance)
The giver by Lois Lowry (dystopian, short but amazing!!!)
Ash princess by Lauren Sebastian (dystopian romance)
The Fifth wave by Rick Yancey (science fiction dystopian)
Fable by Adrienne Young (fantasy, pirate romance)

Edge of collapse by Kyla Stone (dystopian romance) VERY intense!! Check trigger warnings. If sensitive to violence. DO. NOT. READ. PLZ!!
I Hope you enjoy some of these!! <3

Let me introduce to you my fun, humorous, adventurous new Urban Romantasy that is winning people over left and right, Dreamweaver! A sassy 35 year old FMC, Enemies to lovers, Spice, Betrayal and so much more! I promise you a great time! Once a century, a Dreamweaver is born—someone who can shape the worlds we see in sleep… and the choices we make awake.

Rayne Davis doesn’t look the part. She’s thirty-five, broke, and sarcastic enough to scare off anyone who gets too close. But when her nightmares spill into reality and mysterious strangers seem to know her better than she knows herself, Rayne is forced to confront a dangerous truth: the Dreamweaver’s power may lie in her hands.

Now hunted through city streets and star-lit dreamscapes, torn between enemies who look far too tempting and allies she isn’t sure she can trust, Rayne must decide whether to embrace her legacy or watch her world unravel.
