I've been away, hence the delay in getting this posted. So hey, how did you wrap up your reading in August? Did you find some new middle grade reads that count as "great"? Do share them with us!

Having finished my first run through the alphabet, I read will-nilly in August. My favorites included The Silver Gate by Kristin Bailey, which is a medieval historical in which the MC's little sister (who probably has Down's Syndrome) is considered a changeling ... and Benny on the Case by Wesley King, which is a mystery set in Newfoundland, and in which (quite coincidentally) the MC has Down's Syndrome. I also enjoyed The Bellwoods Game by Celia Krampien, which is a Halloween story that's completely illustrated, Ash's Cabin, which is a graphic novel about surviving in the woods by Jen Wang, and Weird Kid, which in which you'll find aliens. Also, I finally (finally) got around to reading Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend, and I'm eager to continue the trilogy, which has magic school vibes.

The Silver Gate (The Silver Gate, #1) by Kristin Bailey Benny on the Case by Wesley King The Bellwoods Game by Celia Krampien Ash's Cabin by Jen Wang Weird Kid by Greg Van Eekhout Nevermoor The Trials of Morrigan Crow (Nevermoor, #1) by Jessica Townsend

How about you?

Angela Sandoval | 16 comments I also read and enjoyed The Bellwoods Game in August. And although I thought it got off to a bit of a slow start, I also really enjoyed the ghost story Hungry Bones. But my favorite for the month of August was Waking the Dead and Other Fun Activities, a fast-paced story featuring a battle against an evil witch, plus family secrets to untangle.

Okay, I'm totally adding this one to my To Read pile!
