Anybody seen OUTLAND? It's from the 80s if memory serves and stars Sean Connery, which makes it worth seeing automatically (ZARDOZ notwithstanding). I haven't seen it in years, but I remember it as being pretty good. Please don't make fun of me if it turns out that it really sucked and I just didn't realize it at the time.
As I noted ^above^ it's 'High Noon' ins space. I just bought the DVD a few weeks ago. I think it's a fantastic film.
quite aside from Connery, the doc, Francis Sternhagen gives a very nice performance, the elderly Georgia mom on The Closer and other movies as well. always liked it.
I remember OUTLAND in that I remember seeing it, and I remember some aspects of the story, but it doesn't stand out in my memory or anything.
Cindy wrote: "Oops...I wrote my post before I read your list, James. Anybody ELSE seen OUTLAND? ;)"Good timing! I reviewed it at Amazon less than three weeks ago after my 50th, or thereabouts, viewing.

PandorumHere's what I remember of the movie; there's is this exodus starship travelling to the next earth like planet and everyone does shift rotation every two years and spends trhe rest of the time in hypersleep bunkers. So the time is ripe for people to...umm kill every one else and there is Noah's Ark and mutation runs terror around the nuclear reactor ala crazy mountain men style and ...they arrived but didn't know it!!!
Not so bad, not really really good, worth a watch!

Here's my favourites (in no particular order)
