King of Wrath question

So when my friend incouraged me to read this book, I thought it was a sweetheart teen-love story.........no......it wasn't! The first part was normal, but the first libary scene..........I literally almost DIED!!!!!! I keep putting the book down and started to regret my live choices. And then the limbo/car scene???????? My heart was HURTING!!!!!! I kept blushing, giggling, and kicking my feet like a little kid! All I'm saying is if you are letting a KID read this book, you must be crazy!
