This has been on my TBR list forever so I was happy to see it selected. I flew through it. Loved it. The author did a great job connecting all the characters, however at one point I was like, really, another?! But didn’t seem to mind because my mouth dropped open. Couldn’t have hated Will anymore!

Spoilers ****

Okay I loved this murder mystery! I truly had so many theories of who was dead and who was the killer. The author really gave the reader multiple theories to select from! I never would have guessed the killer.

My theories:
I was convinced about 70% through the book that Olivia and Jules killed Will together.
I also thought Charlie might kill Will
Hannah might kill Jules
Jonno might kill Will
Will might kill Charlie
…honestly there were so many options. Which is why I loved it!

It was interesting that Will only had chapters at the very end of the book. That made me suspicious of him in general.

Did anyone see the twist coming between Olivia and Will?!

Chandni (chandnin31) | 5 comments I really enjoyed this book too! I didn't see the twist between Olivia and Will but I did have to suspend disbelief a lot that so many people there had these inherently negative connections with him.

if someone had bullied your sister to death, don't you think you would have known his name?

overall though, it was a solid thriller and I really liked it.

if you guys like the locked room mystery on an island trope, I've also read The Bachelorette Party by Camilla Sten which was pretty good.

Jennifer Campbell | 21 comments I liked it too! I found it a little wild that so many people ended up being connected to Will, but I really liked that we didn’t know who died and who the killer was for much of the book. There were so many red herrings… I even thought it might have been Jules’ mother (like if she were the one to overhear instead of the wedding planner, and wanting to protect her daughters, killer him). I feel it ended too abruptly tho. I didn’t realize Will didn’t have chapters earlier on, that should have been a big clue but I missed it. Either way, good story, as long as you don’t find it too unbelievable that they all have this huge crazy connection in the end.

Side note, really reminded me of this series on TV called Harper’s Island in 2009. Murder mystery at a wedding on an island, although that one has a higher body count, but I immediately had the same vibes.
