If you can provide the ASINs or ISBNs for them we can look them up. Note that Great Courses were originally not allowed, but that rule changed a few years back.
Here are some of the ASINs. Hard to find, since they are no longer being sold by Amazon.Punic Nightmares: B0DZ3P4895
Blueprint for Armageddon: B0DTZVBB4M
The Celtic Holocaust: B0DTZPCT9N
History Under The Influence: B0DTXRNYRX
The Destroyer of Worlds: B0DM23NJTZ
Darkness Buries the Bronze Age: B0DTXMKDHW
Thoughts on Churchill: B0DTXCRG4H
Bubonic Nukes: B0DTXJRHNX
I contacted staff right away. On the 19th I got a reply with "We're in the process of investigating".
I tried contacting them again and got:"Thank you for your response. Should we require any assistance, we'll be sure to alert you and bring it to your attention in the future.
If you are unsure about an edit you see on our website, please post in the Librarians Group. Alternatively, we're happy to answer any questions you might have."
Got a canned response "We have investigated this situation and taken appropriate action as needed." No replies to my actual questions
They ended with "Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with." So I wrote back that I would like to know if it is required for a book to be sold on Amazon to be valid for Goodreads? And - you never guess, what I got: "This is to let you know that we’re currently investigating the matter you wrote in about. We appreciate your patience and will return with more information soon. " This is the identical to the first canned response I got.
Is it a bot sending out three different canned responses?
I wrote again asking to talk to a human and got this reply:"This is to let you know that we’re currently investigating the matter you wrote in about. We appreciate your patience and will return with more information soon. " Identical to the one I have received two times already. Why not simply skip having a support email?
I asked directly if I could have my question forwarded to a human. And got this even stranger response:“We've looked into this for you, and the record you mentioned doesn’t meet Goodreads Catalog Guidelines. Given this, the book is not part of our general catalog. “
The “ Goodreads Catalog Guidelines” is a link to this page:
https://www.goodreads.com/catalog/gui...
It seems that the history lectures were removed due to “Illegal or Infringing Content” or ”Offensive Content”.
That is so bizarre…. Or a better camouflaged canned response?
New reply from support: "We have investigated this situation and taken appropriate action as needed. This will be our final email on the matter."
They did nothing.
I still have no idea why they were deleted. Are there any librarian notes on it?
Do you have any suggestions about what to do? Do you think they were deleted by mistake? Or is there a reason somewhere?

According to
https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...
they are valid records:
Recorded lectures (such as The Great Courses) with associated ISBNs or ASINs in the following formats …
Dan Carlin’s history lectures have been on Goodreads for many years. The only thing that changed is that they are no longer sold on Amazon. They have ASINs. Now they are sold from https://www.dancarlin.com/hardcore-hi...
Is being sold on Amazon a requirement?
I hope the lectures can be un-deleted.
Thank you
