Ry Block | 79 comments one of my friends lives across the street from me. I have known her since 5th grade (currently in junior year).

a few weeks ago, me and my family were at a new pizza place for dinner on my moms birthday. well my friend, G, kept calling me and texting me.

She told me that her brother, N, backed out into my car.

She told me that it got my bumper, and there's a big dent in it. She FaceTimed me and passed the phone to N. he said, in a very monotone voice, "Oh. Sorry bout your car." and then walked away from the phone.

Normally, I wouldn't be mad at all. Accidents happen.

but this guy has almost caused a crash MULTIPLE TIMES.

there was a time I was at a stop sign, and when I turned, he came whipping around the corner IN MY LANE and had to swerve to avoid hitting me head on.

He's almost side swiped me a few times. He's almost hit me from behind while I was parked in their driveway.

He says that he hit my car because a delivery person scared him, and he meant to hit the break instead of the gas.
but now that I think about it, everytime he has almost caused a wreak, he was on his phone.

so I'm thinking he was actually on his phone when he hit my car.

idk. I just needed to vent.

without insurance, its costing over $3,200.

i have to get a new bumper, new trim, and the bars under my hood were all bent out of shape, so they had to replace those as well.

He did come over to apologize in person, and i was thinking that he is being genuine. but then my friend told me that when he came to apologize, their mom made him.

this boy has caused me some problems in the past before, non car related.

my car has been in the shop for two weeks, give or take.
im going crazy because i cant do my normal routine without my car. i can't go tot he gym after school with my bestie, i cant drive to school, i cant drive home, i have to borrow some else's car if i need to go to the store or smt.

its annoying and i'm reaching the end of my patience.

Emma! (iamfunny) | 65 comments I agree, he has to pay for the damage to your car.

J | 18 comments (Not a lawyer and it's very dependent on where you are and the laws there) In the future if anything happens make sure to take lots of pictures of the damage and file a police report. Make note of any financial loss from not having the car (ex: can't make it to work). If he (or whoever owns the car) has insurance, pester them. If it comes to it, take it to court (again, check the laws where you are and if it would be worth it).

For now, I wouldn't tolerate anything he does like this. He gets off scot free every time, so he's definitely gonna keep doing it and probably eventually kill someone. He needs to be held accountable.
Sounds like he listens to mom, so maybe go to her and tell her how much the cost is and if he can pay some (preferably all) back, or heck even borrow his car lol.

☁︎Grace☁︎ | 402 comments Do what J says Ry. I think it is best if you tell his mother. Of course you're going to feel a bit guilty because you seem close to that family but it's about time N gets some punishment for this recklessness. God knows he needs it

꧁Brianna꧂ | 4 comments Sue, but depending on the laws where you are and the judge, if you have no evidence he purposely did it or that he has done this before you might not win.

Jennifer Glass | 2 comments The very first thing your are going to need is a police report. You probably can't do anything without that. You have the text from G which may implicate her brother, so that's good. I wish you the best. You shouldn't have to pay for his mistake.
