Thank you so much Deb! :)

I actually need to read Shirley Jackson's The Lottery - I have heard so much about that book.

The cult book was kind of odd in the beginning of the book as I didn't realize that the characters were actually involved in a cult. The author hid all that well until about midway through the book I found out that a cult was involved.

I love it when authors keep things well hidden throughout a book and sometimes till the end of a book as it is always fun trying to guess what is going on. :)

Thank you so much, Hailey!

Excellent that you added those two books to your tbr pile. :)

The author, David Kempf that wrote The Magician always takes books that have been written in the past and then writes a story about them adding some kind of weird twist to them. I have enjoyed all his stories but I wish he would write something longer. lol

The author, John Durgin is kind of coming up in the indie horror author world. That book The Envelope was freaky scary with edge of the seat suspense.

Hope you enjoy both books Hailey when you get around to reading them. :)

I agree. It really heightens the pleasure of reading a book about mysterious events/people.
