It's time for our Autumn Seasonal Challenge! The challenge will run from 1 September to 30 November.

For this year's fall challenge, you've been given a set of words and phrases, and you must match books to these phrases in one of three ways.

1. Phrase contains the initial letters of the author's first and last names (ignore middle initial)
2. Phrase contains the first letter of the title (ignore or include A, An, and The)
3. Phrase is exemplified on the cover (your interpretation)

The Phrases
1. Autumn or Fall
2. Corn Maze
3. Harvest
4. Red and Orange
5. Foliage
6. Cooler Weather
7. Pumpkin Spice
8. Sweater
9. Hot Chocolate
10. Oktoberfest
11. Spooky Season
12. Halloween
13. Jack-o-Lantern
14. Trick or Treat
15. Ghost Stories
16. Bonfire Night
17. Thanksgiving
18. Fireworks

How to join the challenge
You can create a post on this thread to track your progress: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

If you want to discuss the challenge or possible books, use this thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

What books can be counted?

Generally books should be 100 pages or more, but if you’ve found the perfect book and it’s 90 pages then it’s your choice whether to count it. The aim is to have fun and enjoy what you read, so nobody is going to judge anyone else for their book choices.

If you have any questions about the challenge then you can post them in this thread. The FAQs in post two below will also be updated as people ask questions so you might find your question has been answered there.

Happy reading, and we hope you enjoy the challenge!

Irene (irene5) | 904 comments I just want to confirm that "both letters of the author's name" means both initials?

And will there the fall challenge be added to the spreadsheet?

Thank you!

Sorry - yes. First and last initials. I'll adjust it.

I don't think it's going in the spreadsheet, but I'll check with the other mods.
